Well, I checked back in here. Wasn't expecting to write anything, but had to respond to this. I'm not sure why I am getting lumped in with the "prickish ND haters who make Quinn Sadaam jokes." My points were clear days ago. LSU is clearly better. I am not a Notre Dame hater. I don't like them. (There's a difference.) LSU will romp. Russell is better than Quinn. There were no Sadaam jokes or low blows on my part. Just football talk. No BS.
I stated many times that ND was clearly the underdog but any post saying how ND has no place in this game or that ND got romped is total BS. Maybe you aren't in the 90%.

Most teams ranked in the top 10-15 beat other top 10-15 teams, or at worst are competitive versus top 10 teams. The past 2 years ND has not beaten a top 10-15 team and has only been ultra-competitive in 1 game (home vs. USC last year). Just look at all the other teams ranked similar to ND the past 2 years and all of them have beat other top 10-15 teams. Boise State beat Oklahoma Rutgers beat Louisville Wisconsin beat Arkansas Florida beat Arkansas Arkansas beat LSU Texas beat Oklahoma Louisville beat West Virginia USC beat Michigan Michigan beat Wisconsin I could go on, but I think everyone gets the point. Until Notre Dame proves it can beat these teams, they shouldn't be playing in BCS games. It isn't fair to the fans of college football, the other more deserving teams that get snubbed, and the ND players themselves.

It was a fine match and a great game played up to the point were LSU broke it away. All you are looking at is the final score. To you the final score speaks for every detail.
Dino, I don't see how you can rationalize this game as anything other than an ass kicking. ND didn't deserve to be in the Sugar Bowl and they proved it last night.
They jumped to a 14-0 lead, and when it was 21-14 LSU, ND had to have been shocked to even be in that game. LSU dominated both halves. Just face it...ND couldn't play with the Big Boys this year. Maybe you'll win a bowl game this Millennium.
Easy to say that from a ND loss. Nothing will change my mind. They did deserve to be there. They didn't hand over the game. I know LSU would say they had to work hard for it.
