they did play him and he's done nothing with that opportunity. in contrast look at josh johnson, got a chance and is now active on the ravens roster. duke johnson look what he just did with a chance. and collins from seattle and johnson form cleveland. lots of players get a chance and make the most of it. mims just didn't.
potential. maybe he just needs more time. he's cheap on a rookie deal with 2 years left. no reason to move on from him unless someone offers us really good value for him
I wanted to see Mims play as much as the next guy and called for him to get minutes. Unfortunately he got them, and then sucked when he played. The guy can't get separation, drops balls, and generally just doesn't look like NFL caliber receiver.
Devin Smith, Chad Hansen, ArDarious Stewart, Denzel Mims, Jalen Saunders, Shaq Evans, Stephen Hill… We could’ve donated a lot of money to childrens charities rather than paying these guys throughout the years. None of them were NFL calibre receivers either. It’s not like anyone left to have a food career. Most of em didn’t even find more than a year on a second team.
I will even go back further. Reggie Rembert, Alex Van Dyke, Ryan Yarborough, and Ralph Clayton, all second round picks that were utterly busts, there has been a long history of 2nd round WR busts!!!! I will throw in a TE for good measure Jace Amaro. Terrible. We hit on one, that was Wesley Walker, he was awesome for us! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Reggie Rembert. Now thats a name I have not thought about in over a decade easily and did not think I would see a reference to today. good call
yup…this is the problem…some of those guys should be the core of the team today…they all sucked. And good point about none of them having success elsewhere…the problem wasn’t bad coaching…the problem was they weren’t NFL quality players you could also make a pretty similar list out of DL we’ve drafted…
This Browns/Raiders game is the perfect example as to why you need to try to find top end receivers. No one can get open at all. The Raiders have tried at least they’ve just failed and drafted a dickhead in Ruggs. The Browns have largely ignored the position after trading for OBJ and Landry and it shows.
Duke was given a chance…against the jets d. He will be terrible next week vs the saints. If mims were given a chance vs the jets d he might just produce.
probably not. our CBs are actually good. ti's the run defense and safeties that have been ravaged by injuries. I doubt mims is beating hall/echols/carterr II
This mans running out of time to be on the roster next year too. Prime opportunity right now and he's not even showing himself as a viable rotation piece. Sent from my M2007J20CG using Tapatalk
I was against giving up early in the season but he's done absolutely nothing with the opportunity. Time to look at trade options and target a round 2/3 receiver next year. Looking at David Bell as a good option.
