Grading against the curve. I k is if he was a stud but I feel like he did more than his share to help the team try to win yesterday. He was more than just not a problem. Pre injury Zach gets the Jets blown out of that game. IMO
The whole point of this thread is studs and duds though. Calling someone a stud whose fumble that cost his team points, has barely a 50% completion rate, and got skunked on offense in the 2nd half is a little bit of a reach.
wilson did what he could. he was very elusive, he was patient, he looked like a vet. he got out of quite a few sacks and kept drives moving with his legs. he outplayed brady and kyl;er murray who both have better teams aorund them and both are pro bowlers. If zach can play like that when we get all of our injured players back, we'll be looking pretty good on offense
, Agree. He did his job, and did it quite well considered what he was given, which was very little at all. A miserable OL that is paper thin, a TE and RB that couldn’t figure out their blocking roles, WRs with zero separation, a group that as a whole almost got him killed.
Very good job, Wilson a stud is a stretch, but he did improve under the most adverse circumstances. DUDs. The back ups OL are dreadful to say the least. Massive upgrade needed. For next year Becton is a wild card at this point, Fant and Moses keepers as is EVT, a jewel at LG. McGovern solid. Beyond that we are subpar at best. I want two starter caliber OL added in 3022 Super DUD award. DC and his play calling on any given third down.
There's a bit of a problem citing the use of Berrios when lauding LaFleur. His production is great - when he's on the field but he only had ten snaps this week. Of course that's a 100% improvement over a week ago when he only had five but it's still only 17% of what was available. It's not that there are superstars taking all the snaps. I like seeing the stats every week that shows the ball being spread around but it would be nicer to see some consistency in who is getting the targets, particularly if the targets were converted to completions. I'd also be hard pressed to call Wilson's performance studly; the game is sixty minutes long. Looking at all four quarters together is like staring into the face of mediocrity.
If Wilson was a stud than so was the entire DL, Wilson has gone good drive, other than that he was awful, its becoming very obvious he can't play a more than 2 quarter's at a above average rate, but the fact that he was even mentioned just goes to show how awful he had been.
The small WR’s are the best on the team, aka Moore, Crowder and Berrios. Guess there’s a reason they won’t play Crowder and Berrios a ton together but at this point, gotta get Berrios more PT because Mims isn’t working.
Brady was missing his top 3 receivers and #1 RB against the same defense Zach looked overwhelmed by the prior week. It definitely helps to have players. Even the best need them. However, to call a Zach a stud after last game just shows how much of a homer you’re being.
Nothing tough about it. The guy sets the standards so low, if Zach ever does have a Mike White type game that he had against the Bengals, he would call him a future hall of famer.
Maybe the standards are low but it is the Holiday times. We can be a little less jaded at least for a week or two.
Berrios is Wes Welker, Julian Edelman redux. If Brady had him to throw to he'd be an all-pro. They should figure out how Wilson can be Brady, then we'd have something. LOL.
fournette played most of the game (left in the 3rd quarter) evans and godwin were knocked out in the 1st half he still had gronk, howard, brate, and ronald jones. the point was zach was misssing all his top guys as well so you have to curb expectations. That even the best QBs aren't going to look great without help around them
