I'm all for Saleh being one and done. This isn't working, and none of the coaches have shown any ability to learn and improve. They're making the same mistakes over and over and progress is mostly being measured as having one or two instances when something good happened. The only argument for keeping him is the same stupidass argument EVERY team uses for keeping an inept coach: Our new QB's growth. Newsflash: The new QB IS NOT GOING TO GROW UNDER A BAD COACH!!

We're almost at the end of the season and there isn't a single sign that the team can improve. They aren't even competitive. We need to start over next year.

I don’t see it with Saleh. It feels like only a matter of time before he’s canned and we start again.

Can’t name a single thing he does “well.” Even Gase had that one thing - the opening (scripted) drives. I got nothin for Saleh

Saleh is LOYAL to his...friends, the CS. I can't see him getting rid of ANY of them. I can't see how Jeffy U is doing anything near a good job. Ho to the booth jeff, and see if you'd make the same play calls now. Whats the use, he would make the same calls.
We haven't improved all year.. ON FUNDAMENTALS..what would make me believe anyone else player wise coming here, is gonna change that.
Saleh keeps saying jeffy is doing fantastic.
No, jeffy is a clueless pud, whose players don't play for him.
    What a mess

The problem is if you get rid of Saleh after one year then who is coming here? Any potential head coaches will avoid this organization like the plague. The Jets are in a serious rebuild and no coach is turning them around in one year. Any potential coaches will say " I am not going there if they don't give me more than one year to turn it around".

The Jets aren't getting anybody good to come coach this mess unless they give them full control and pay them through the nose.

Nothing about that will change with one more year of Douglas and Saleh.

If they give them full control and pay them then yes they would come here but will Johnson do that? Honestly it shouldn't be like this. Same goes for the Giants. They are a big market NYC area team with a large and loyal fanbase. Yes I realize attendance sucks but with high ticket prices, PSL fees and a garbage product on the field can anyone blame the fans for staying away. If the Jets can show they are headed in the right direction the fans will pack the stadium. The Jets and Giants should be an attractive job to take but unfortunately its not.

The Jets and Giants are finally paying a real price for moving to New Jersey. They both blow chunks and they can't draw people well from east of the Hudson.

When I moved to New London in 2004 the Jets and Patriots had an equal number of gear-wearers in the area. Maybe slight advantage to the Pats.

When I went back in 2019 to watch a game with some friends at the local sports bar I saw no Jets gear at all in the place. Solid Pats crowd now.

I'll guarantee you the regional trips to a football game go north and east to the Pats and have for awhile. The Jets don't play in NYC where it makes sense to go down for a weekend and enjoy the city and the game. They play in a swamp in New Jersey that is a pain in the ass to get too and where parking costs twice as much as the whole game experience did at Shea.

I was excited at the initial hire, but like others said I dont see anything they do well, they play stupid, and dont seem to be improving.

Granted there's a chicken / egg scenario as the roster sucks and most of the players would ride the pine on most good teams, so he gets one more year to disappoint us, then cut bait... again.

If Saleh doesn't fire Ulbrich at the end of the season, I'll be pretty disappointed. Ulbrich has done a horrendous job with defensive playcalling. Almost every 3rd down is Cover 1, crowding the LOS. All teams have to do is run a basic rub route and it's a free first down.

Meh. If the Jets and Giants were 10-4, the stadiums would be packed regardless of what a hassle it is to get to the games. What you’re saying probably only applies when they’re bad.
I think the allure across all professional sports of playing in New York is pretty much gone. Extremely high tax rates, pressure and fundamentally bad organizations from top to bottom keep it from being an awesome landing spot. Why go coach at the shithole in Jersey with the bad owners when you can coach in Florida or Texas with no income tax?

It's like this franchise has already sucked the life out of this dude. Happened quicker than I expected.

Where is the passion we saw on the San Fran sideline? This guy was running all over the place, cheering, and yelling. The guy is lifeless now. Just stands there chewing gum. For the hockey fans, it's reminiscent of old Rangers coach Alain Vigneault. Just stare off onto the field and chew gum.

I think he needs to be more hands on personally, at least on the defensive side of things it might bring that passion and fire back. Hopefully he improves next year as this team needs him to work out in the worst way.

It's obviously to late for this now but I always wondered why the Jets and Isles didn't partner up and try to have a Long Island version of the Meadowlands Sports complex built. Maybe even in Queens and get the Mets involved. The Jets were always known as NY/LI team and even today many of the season ticket holders still come from NYC/LI.

You might be right about that but if they could win here the celebration in NY would be epic with a ride down Broadway in Manhattan. Especially for the Jets and Knicks since its been so long since these teams won.

I swear I remember reading/hearing somewhere that 2025 is when the Jets contract runs out in Metlife and thats when they were going to make the move out to LI near the Islanders

Is there room in Belmont to build an NFL stadium? They would also have to do something with the parking. Everything I have read or heard from people who have gone to UBS is the Isles new arena is fantastic but the parking situation is a nightmare. UBS holds 17,000 so imagine the problems with a stadium that holds around 70,000.

Douglas is not the problem, they need to hire an offensive minded HC that has run a successful offense and a veteran DC that can be left alone to run a good balanced defense.

You said it yourself, give this team a good veteran CS and we wouldn’t see these issues week in and week out.

Give this CS three high draft picks and they will be wasted.

Saleh is not going to be fired after 1 year. That would be making the same mistake they made with Bowles relative to Darnold. I admit I wanted Bowles gone - had been calling for that for 2 years before it happened - but replacing him meant forcing Darnold to learn a whole new system. At first I was hopeful because at least Gase was supposed to be an "offensive genius", but the only part of that title that was accurate was that he was offensive.

Although I believe Zach could handle a transition like that better than Sam did, it would still be setting him - and the rest of the team - back. Unless there was a HC available who has a proven winning NFL record, I don't think it's worth trying to replace Saleh now.

Besides, I think he has made improvement over the season, and the team has improved despite some massive injuries to key players. That they had a chance to beat Miami is testimony to that.

Now Ulbrecht, that's a different story. He probably needs to go.

Do you think LaFleur is a problem now? He seems to have gotten better since going to the booth. The DC, OTOH, has shown no signs of improvement and must be replaced after the season.
