QB's taken does not mean QB's worth. The difference between the NFL draft now and the NFL draft of a decade ago is that people take the Geno Smith's in the first round without thinking too hard about it. They take the E.J. Manuel's in the top 3 picks. It's not that more QB picks are failing now than a decade ago. It's that the same picks that used to be taken in the 20's and in the 2nd round are now taken in the top half of the first. Failures either way but you pay through the nose to fail now.
The league has changed to emphasis the pass. It is what it is. Teams are more intent to find that franchise QB that can win games and put asses in the seats.
Teams are basically stupid then. Failed QB's depress attendance and you are more likely to fail on a risky QB pick than to find your star. Probably on the order of 3x more likely to fail than succeed.
But then you call my comments "idiotic" in your very next post. I knew you'd make another personal attack. I won't stoop to your level.
He is a rookie. Give him another year. He also didn't have all his offensive weapons last week. The one thing that was pointed out in his BYU film is in his progressions he missed wide open receivers down the field and instead went for the shorter routes. Sent from my SM-G986U using Tapatalk
What Bart said is stupid. The entire sentiment is stupid. Every week Wilson has taken responsibility for slow starts, bad throws, everything. He doesn’t answer one loaded question in a presser and he isn’t a leader and isn’t held accountable? He needs books on how to be a leader? Needs to learn how to walk like a leader? fucking stupid. There are so many legit criticisms. Accountability is not one of them.
Are we again bashing this kid? Wow, he wasn’t bad this game, 1st half he was actually great. I don’t care we had mahomes this game we weren’t winning cause our defense is horrendous. The O line in second half was worst I have seen them. A lot of times Zach had no chance. When they stopped the run in second half we had no answer. Some of it is we did not adjust to Miami’s adjustment. They plain and simple were winning the battles. Yeah Zach made some crap throws in 2nd half, but the whole team was reEling. Brady getting killed tonight after his WR and RB injured. No one open and sacks galore. I saw that Zach had no one open on many occasions today. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Taking responsibility for one's actions is a key aspect of every job on the planet. That's what accountability is supposed to be.
All things considered, Zach had a decent game today. Having to overcome an OL that couldn't block, and receivers who couldn't get open, or when they did, couldn't hold onto the ball, was too much. Yes, he made some poor passes, and he needs to hit some of them if he's ever going to become a FQB. Until he does, that question remains unanswered. He showed more fire than he has before, and more willingness to try to make things happen off script, which shows growth. The accuracy was a little better today, but he missed some critical throws that could've made the difference. But the far bigger issue is the defense. There is a serious lack of talent there, made worse by poor execution. How many tackles were broken resulting in big gains? And I was shocked that Miami didn't go for it on the play that they botched the snap from Center - really anything less than 3 yards is pretty much a gimme against the Jets. At least the team - with the exception of Mims - hasn't given up.
Which is what Wilson does every single week. Which is why this entire conversation they had is stupid.
