Not only would I not mind it … that’s exactly what we better do if we have any dreams of being competitive next year. The Saints with Taysom Hill at QB didn’t punt until there was 2:00 left in the game. The Dolphins without their top receiver punted on their first possession, and didn’t punt again until there was 2:00 left in the game. It’s RIDICULOUS how this defense simply can’t get off the field. We have about 3 or 4 guys who can play … The Williams brothers, Hall, Mosley … that’s about it. They rest of them can be replaced in about 10 minutes.
That’s because they’re not starters. Cole had a bad game - he usually plays better. Barrios brings some juice but he’s not a starter either and he’s 5’7”. It appears Mims is not a part of the future …. That being said defense needs to be the priority this year. Maybe not all four picks but definitely the majority ….
Never stop adding weapons for your young qb. Yes we need to beef up the d but we can’t skip a draft building up Zach either.
They won’t …. I’d like to see another WR added at some point. OL even more important on O too though.
Yeah they were awful … no doubt. I’m not sure a WR got separation all game. But it’s much more aggravating watching every offense in the league roll on us. We have a few decent weapons on offense, but we can’t stop a HS team. I’d like to draft the 4 best defenders we can get our hands on, and then look for some OL help.
They were bad, but our defense is the worst in the league when it comes to points allowed. Just like the offense got prioritized early this year, I'd like to see the defense get a similar amount of attention.
It isn't going to matter unless the coaching is an order of magnitude better. The Jets defense hasn't been prepared for a game properly since early in the season. We're completely dependent on raw ineptitude out of the opposing offense, without which we get blown out on defense. Give this defensive coaching staff 3 high picks next year and you're just wasting 3 high picks. Give this defense a strong coaching staff and they wouldn't be headed for an NFL worst.
This is the main takeaway when it comes to trying to figure out how to fix the Jets. It doesn't matter because there's no fixing the Jets. If the coaching staff was better, they'd be sabotaged by the front office. If the front office was good, they'd be sabotaged by the coaching staff. If we somehow caught lightning in a bottle and had a good front office at the same time as a good coaching staff, then the owners would step in and manage to screw it up. This is a broken franchise that won't have any chance of being fixed until the Johnsons decide to sell the team. Until then it's just the franchise's PR department selling us a bunch of false hope every couple of years.
Defense is fucking atrocious. But y’all crazy if you think we don’t need help on the offensive line and at receiver.
I feel like it’s easier to buy defensive help than offensive help. A couple of backers and a safety or 2 in free agency. Obviously have to get edge help in the draft.
Buddy Ryan couldn't win with these misfits, I don't know why anyone is so surprised, they have 2 dudes that anyone recognizes Williams and Mosely, zero Playmakers
Will there ever be a year again where we aren't repeating the same line about how we need help everywhere on the damn roster? It's beyond old at this point.
there is not one area of the team that is not a trainwreck so if drafting high at least go with premium positions - OT, WR, pass rusher - please no more defensive linemen that are not pass rushers for God's sake - we spent more high draft picks on that part of the team than seems possible and we still have next to nothing to show for it!
