Unfavorable. Good coaches don't get demolished as often as he does, even with poor talent. They'd lose, but not by 3+ touchdowns every week. Parcells went 8-8 with Rick Mirer and Ray Lucas.
Have you guys seen his game management? He leaves a lot to be desired as a HC but we are stuck with him for 3 more years so hopefully he learns quickly!
You can find moments in which every coach has horrendous clock management. Every single coach does it save for Belidouche. I do like his aggressiveness on 4th down in plus territory.
I'm not sanguine on his future here. Seems like a good guy, handsome, and very well spoken, but he's clearly in over his very shiny head.
Parcells also went 3-12-1 in his first year with the Giants and was ridiculed daily (pre-internet) on the local radio shows - kinda like this board. He was very nearly fired at season’s end. LOL…. I’m in no way suggesting Saleh will turn into another version of Parcells but that is just one example of a coach turning things around after his rookie season. Joe Gibbs is another. He needs more players and in some cases better players to carry out his schemes and I would imagine another training camp will help too. I have noticed these last 3 or 4 games a more animated Saleh on the sidelines - I can see he’s not happy with the results. The players may very well see a different style this coming summer….you never know.
Good post! Forgot HOU game…. Not that it was memorable either way! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Unfavorable - When I look at this defense, it is impossible to believe that Robert Saleh was a former NFL Defensive coordinator
The Jets were down 3 to Atlanta in the fourth quarter. How is that over at the half? And we were definitely in the NO game until NO went ahead by 10 in the fourth.
over 60% of our day 1 starters are on IR, we were a young and undertalented team to begin with in year 2 of a full rebuild. New coach, rookie QB, new OC, new DC, new scheme, what did people really expect? What we do have is a good young core. the 2021 draft seems like a great one. we have a ton of picks for 2022 and good cap room. not many bad contracts (just mosley). If we can stay overall healthy in the next 2 years we can start competing in 2023 with some good managemnet from JD and progression from zach but that was always the plan. The issue is we always seem to get screwed by injuries
Nothing like watching a legendary coach chase players around the sideline with the business end of a lit cigar.
He’s been a disaster so far. There’s a chance at improvement, of course, but he’s got a long way to go. That said, whoever made the decision for Wilson to have no camp competition should be fired. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Saleh is part of what makes Douglas a problem. There's nobody in the house on the football side who is not junior to Douglas and that's likely by intent.
He sucks...he needs replacing soon. Team unprepared ...plain and simple The Browns were rebuilt much better after Kitchens fired JD has to be careful with "popular " coaches hustling their way onto a job We missed the boat not signing Jimmy G for our QB and not getting McCarthy as HC Back to square one ...FEH
I really think Cimini had it right when he was banging the table for Foles in the pre-season. If Nick Foles had kept Zach Wilson on the bench the odds are LaFleur would have gotten the offense installed and our perception of the season would be very different although the Jets would probably only have won another game or two overall.
I find these threads so odd, because ounce he was hired, he was the greatest coach ever, not even thru his first season, 3/4s of the fanbase want him gone lol whose next
