Yeah I like to preach patience around here but no way Wilson is our QB if can't make the easy plays. Kid can make a beautiful 40 yard throw but can't complete a 6 yard throw to an open TE and it's been a consistent issue for him all year.
Wilson sucks. I am trying so hard to stay positive about him but today I gave up. We actually had personnel scout him before the draft. Did he make 7 yard throws during the workout sessions? If he tried to throw the ball in the ocean from 10 yards out, it hits the sand first.
This thread still open? My takes from this crapola Other than CJ Moseley our Defense is pathetic..no Q pressure? Let's Taysum H run for a TD? Laughable Wilson took a step back from last week ..some throws behind receivers..other than that he runs for his life coursey of the shitty OL ..can't connect on 3rd downs On a positive note Our new kicker Dinero is Gold.....Sophia Culpo very hot young lady The NO Saints OTOH have drafted well T Hill a real ball player Alvin Kamara >>all world Nine points from kicker is an absolutely anemic performance JD back to the drawing board imo unless year 2 of Wilson is lights out Saleh gets credit for going for it on 4th down...otherwise complete feh
Yeah today was the first time I felt like giving up on him. Good QBs don't struggle with the things he's struggling with. Unfortunately I don't see any better options.. No clearly better QBs in the draft. Best case scenario is bring in a vet and hope Zach improves next season
never wanted Wilson in the first place - so now this season's only highlight is being able to say "I told you so" to myself
I didn’t want him either, but I’ve still been rather surprised with just how bad he’s been. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I got sort of fooled by some of the performances in the pre-season and thought "hmm maybe I was wrong and the fact he has never faced any real opposition hasn't led the Jets to overestimate his talents" - then the regular season started - he just strikes me as the ultimate pro-day QB - in shorts and a t-shirt he looks like an all pro but when facing pressure it seems to all fall apart
This was a realistic possibility given that the Jets had no plan to install ZW safely and the guy they wanted to work on the passing game died tragically in the off-season and the Jets basically gave ZW about 20 competitive reps in the pre-season. He's been bad but he's been bad in a way that is easy to relate too. The early "drops", which in retrospect just look like the lack of touch and accuracy that we have enough evidence of to call them what they are. The picks and long completions that came out of hero mode but that have been less evident in recent weeks as the opponents have refused to allow the top of the defense to be breached and Zach has been unable to take advantage of underneath. The decline in play all around as people have started to play it safe given the likelihood that selling out would do much to change the outcomes. This includes players not playing through pain and injury, going to IR or staying there if that's what seems best. There is a general lack of investment around the Jets at the moment and given the way the season has played out that is not surprising.
I bought into that a bit too. My own fault. This one had bust written all over it from the beginning. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I think the main problem is the Jets never seem to have a plan - either they take a loaded squad and draft and play a rookie when what was needed was a decent vet or they are burning draft capital trying to find a saviour at QB and bringing them into a roster that is devoid of talent and watching them fail then rinse and repeat
The plan is always to find one or two things to market the hell out of. Just go full-bore on a couple of new themes and wear them out. Then things settle, then things start to sink, then the sinkhole appears. The plan after that is to find one or two things to market the hell out of. Just go full-bore on a couple of themes and wear them out. Then things settle, then things start to sink, then the sinkhole appears. After a few reps of this sequence you suddenly realize a decade has gone by and the Jets have been really bad for most of it.
