I think Saleh rn is being put in a difficult positon that said, The JETS (Again) went the rookie coach route and then DOUBLED DOWN W/a Rookie OC. Only the JETS could rationalize moves like this.

I was at the game…so yes, with the exception of the first 1-2 mins in the 3rd quarter and the last couple of mins, I watched the entire thing.
2 year projects fail in the first year *all* the time. If you're smart you don't let the 2nd year become part of the failure. The Jets could have the offense and defense both installed going into 2023 and then face the hard question of where they are going to get a QB from. Alternatively the Jets could fumble around with Zach Wilson for another year, not have the offense installed and make the QB question about 5x worse than it should be.
I don’t know how anyone can say today was on par with his 4 INT game considering he didn’t turn the ball over once but everyone’s entitled to their own opinion.
again...when it's YES. 100% correct that this can happen but you can't just give up because this MIGHT happen. You can't do that under all the circumstances and holes this team has. You keep building so that if the time comes to plug in a QB into a successful situation, it's ready to roll. Can't just bench Zach next year because the TEAM sucks rn.
Here’s every throw from Zach today. Again, big shoutout to the Jets Talk 24/7 YT channel for having this up already. Zach wasn’t good today, but the skill guys did not help him at all. Ty had his hands on all 3 drops, not sure how anyone can say Zach is at fault for any of Ty’s first 3 drops in the 1st quarter.
There’s a big difference between an excuse and a justification IMO. I didn’t bring those things up to excuse the way Zach played today, only to justify it. Zach was not good today but I didn’t expect him to be without CD, Elijah, MC, and Tevin.
And I disagree with your comments. Just watched those 3 throws you’re referring to with Ty and he should’ve caught them. Were they perfect balls? No but they’re balls an NFL RB should catch 10/10 times. Remember what Saleh told Zach when they first drafted him? The organization was going to lift him, not the other way around. Why are we expecting him to be perfect in less than perfect circumstances? Zach has to improve, there’s no argument there but I disagree with this notion that he’s regressing.
I posted this before but i'll say it here, Where are the "Your QB should make your teammates better" posts that were being posted when our former QB's struggled? That was the constant mindset before but why all of a sudden it doesn't apply here? Is this something that happens in year 2, mid career or when? I need to know this because imo that argument is straight hogwash if it only applies in defense or in attacking a qb. ftr, not saying you ever said this, just mentioning it because it was a constant theme that magically disappeared.
Again, not excuses but justifications. Would you have been happy with a starting trio of Cole, Crowder, and Berrios going into the season? I sure wouldn’t have been. He wasn’t good today but I didn’t expect him to be either.
If you cannot install the offense around Zach you cannot play Zach. If the Jets go into 2023 without the offense installed it is unlikely to matter who plays QB for them that season. That's why you cannot play Zach next year and hope for the best. You need to go into next year with an absolute mandate that the offensive install is the most important part of the project. This is because the Jet's offense has blown chunks for most of the last decade and it has brought down 3 coaches (Rex, Bowles and Gase) while doing so. If you let it bring Saleh down in 2023 we are looking at 2026 (maybe) as our next window of opportunity to compete. So next year *has* to be about the offense and if Zach can't help us with that we need to get him out of the way of that build.

IMO that was a valid talking point for Sam in year 3. I expect a 3rd year QB to lift his teammates up. I can’t expect that from a rookie QB in his 9th start without his top 2 WR’s and RB’s. That’s the main difference to me.
