The wide 9 defense has failed this jets team miserably. Go back to the 3-4 and work on stopping the run, you have to stop the run in the NFL to be successful on defense. This whole scheme brought in by Saleh is a disaster!
I mean Taysom Hill isn't even a proper QB in most peoples eyes - he is a gadget player and yet he looks like Tom Brady in his prime against our defense and Wilson looks like, well, Zach Wilson (that is our pepsi rookie of the week right there with the 20% completion rate)
Looking forward to us boosting the numbers in garbage time though - might get that completion % up to 40% with a fair wind
It's a scheme designed to get our opponents offense tired out by the half... As a side benefit it keeps our offense off the field and fresh.
One thing to remember is that the switch from a 3-4 to a 4-3 often brings real pain the first season as personnel not suited are discarded and new guys brought in. The Jets basically have four or five 3T, NT and 5T at this point. They need a minimum of two 4-3 DE's and a good ROLB to make the defense run right.
