CJ lost me this week with that whining BS about nobody respecting the Jets. You motherfuckers are playing historically bad football, that demands zero respect. If you want to demand something, start demanding that your teammates and coaches show up on Sunday.
He didn't have to take the money. He could have gotten a decent payday anywhere in the NFL but instead he took the richest contract ever for an ILB. Deal with the Devil and he will take your soul.
He also looked great for two weeks and then disappeared. I regret ever giving kudos to the people who told us there was no reason he wasn’t going to be a All Pro linebacker this year. Dude sucks and either over runs the ball carrier, is blocked because he hasn’t taken a step before the back is by him or is chasing receivers.
Problem with CJ is yes, we'd love to have his experience on the field b/c he's better than any other guy we could put out there, but he costs a shit ton, way more than he deserves. So from a playing standpoint, yes keep him, but from a cap standpoint, get that covid pussy money bag mf'er outta here.
Given the choice the Jets should be playing people on the ascent, fighting every play for a spot on an NFL roster. It's what you do when you are building a team. C.J. Mosley is an exception for this season because his ability and leadership potential outweigh the need to find a young core guy. Next season the Jets should find a trade for him and if he's smart he should restructure the contract to make that happen. C.J. Mosley is not part of the Jet's future - not on the timeframe they are on.
Somebody has to make tackles. Mosley had been up and down this season but hell at least he's finishing plays off. Nobody else beyond the line of scrimmage is finding the ballcarrier
The entire LB core needs to be rebuilt really…they need a young EDGE coming from the outside and really a replacement for Moseley. Guys like Quincy, Norwood and Shaq are fringe starters - they’re good for depth purposes and blitz packages but they really need 2 or 3 permanent starters back there.
We are stuck with Mosely next year which is just as well until we find anyone else half as good as he is. Even if we score some talent in the draft, these players will benefit from his leadership and experience.
Get a LB on day 2 in the upcoming draft to give him help. Whether it's Lloyd, Harris, Dean, or someone else, find someone who can be an eventual successor.
Fuck yeah. And how about leading by example and not jumping offsides on THE most obvious attempt at getting a defense to jump to get a first down in the history of teams trying to get players to jump to get a first down!?!?
The Eagles were laughing at it too. Usually when that happens, the line stands up and points at the guy who jumped. The Eagles basically stood up, did a 1st down gesture and half the line walked up the 5 yards. Like, "Got ya sucka!!!!!". So embarrassing.
not just that... he's never IN THE HOLE to make a run stop... EVER gets his ish pushed around Colts #28 stiffed armed him like he was a CB
Lol at people thinking we can trade him. With this contract were the ones sending picks too. Thanks to Macc, we have no choice but to keep the guy next year. 17.5 cap hit next year and unless we trade him, cutting him either before or after June 1st will incur at least 17.5 mill in dead money. He's here unless he becomes a malcontent. Edit: Just to add how bad this contract is, we can finally get out with savings from 2023, at the same time as Carl Lawson, Corey Davis and even JFM. You pretty much nailed it right there. Mosely stays - let's just hope he is good next year, then his enormous salary comes off and we can part ways or keep him for much smaller amount in 2023.
