No investment this year. He has $10 million in injury guarantees for next year that become fully guaranteed in March. The only risk for bringing him in is that if he got injured in the final 5 games, he will be guaranteed $10 million. I’d at least put in the claim personally.

I would claim him. The team needs to consistently add talented players. I was just raising the point that you might not get quite as much out of him as you would if you were a contender. NFL players are also thinking about their next contract though so who knows. Dude appears to be a tackling machine.

I just don't think there's any real indication he s a locker room headache in a halfway decent circumstance. Is the entire Houston locker room a headache? No one likes ownership or management there.

Maybe as a fan looking a year or two down the road we are but as a player… probably hard to see the forest through the trees when you know you could have ended up with a contender but had no say in the matter. I’m personally in favor of it, I just don’t think it’s a Douglas-type move at all.
Maybe Douglas won't be interested, but Saleh is very well respected by all accounts within the player community.
