Mac Jones would have been as shite as Wilson if he came here, what you would have seen was the Mac Jones that blew both his pro days. We just can not coach a fucking QB to save our lives.
There's no doubt we're drafting a kicker this year. So our kicking will fucking suck ass for the next 2 seasons as well.
After watching this game, it definitely looks like Wilson has a ceiling of Alex Smith--but definitely a Kyle Boller / Deshaun Kizer type of floor. Has ability, but this turnover problem is REAL. He is in the top 5 for interceptions, even after missing all those games. Really discouraged. He has thrown a pick in EVERY game he has played.....that is a cause for concern
Funny.. but drafting a kicker because we're too f'n cheap to buy a good one on the open market is a scenario I can see happening.
Seriously, this is why we’re a perennial joke. The guy we wanted was gone, so the thing to do was trade down get more high round picks, then either take Jones or sign someone like, I don’t know, Gardner Minshew, and build the team until a guy you really want is available. Instead, as always, we reach for this kid in order to make a “splash” and sell merch, and we get yet another clown show.
