My take on him so far this year is that he presses very hard in the first half when the game is still close. Then after halftime the game is usually out of reach and he just settles in and starts bombing away and hits a few of those to make the stats look like he is salvageable. The truth is likely that the defense is just in prevent mode and not covering the mid-range receivers that closely and so he is basically taking target practice against bend but don't break defenses. Since he is a bomber at heart this lets him get in a few long completions and the defense can't stop all of those. Again, he needs to be a better QB at the boring stuff or he's never going to progress beyond the raw talent that he is today. No idea how you get him to do that though. Saleh has said boring stuff so often in public (and presumably doubly so in private) that if Zach hasn't gotten that message yet it is likely not that he hasn't gotten the message but that he is unable to make those throws and decisions consistently.
Yes ive seen plenty of good qbs make that throw. Im not saying he hasnt made bad ones this game but that certainly isn't one.
