Don’t see the point. How many QBs needed? This is JD hoping his draft pans out better? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It's a practice squad. We wanted him there to begin with along with Johnson, he knows the system, and now we have him. As far as how many QBs do we need, strangely 2 of them are out with COVID, and thankfully Zach just recovered. If he didn't we are left with Josh Johnson as the only one healthy QB. That's why you have the practice squad, for crazy things like that. A minor transaction, no biggie.
The Jets could have a Baker's Dozen of QB's at this point in the season and it wouldn't matter because management has no clue what they are doing. Hopefully we'll have a couple of good candidates in camp next year and have a real competition to see who is the right one to lead the Jets into the season. That's what should have happened this year.
Interesting on how many times can be elevated. Exemption if COVID related. Wonder what comes of Johnson with this move. https://jetsxfactor.com/2021/11/25/ny-jets-reunite-qb-james-morgan/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Was always a fan of this kid BUT, his skillset evidently isn't NFL caliber. I would imagine this is a bouquet to the Boss for drafting him and then cutting him.
Not saying he's great, or can even become an NFL QB even as backup, but I think it's too soon to write him off. After all, he got NOTHING in terms of development from Googly Eyes and Patton Oswalt. I still hope he can succeed to some degree.
I’m not saying it’s the sole reason we brought him back but undoubtedly part of this is Douglas trying to save his ass a little bit. This guy was cut by three teams in one season and was a fourth round pick a year ago. Horrendous pick the second his name was written on the card and no amount of practice squad appearances will change that.
Josh Johnson has no future with the team. JD is probably eye balling Morgan as our 3rd string QB past this season.....
What GM are you watching? JD does not need to save his ass. Douglas had yielded 8 starters in two drafts. Tell me how many GM's have achieved that feat over the last two years....
In hindsight maybe it was a bad pick, but how can we really know that? Morgan was given zero attention under Gase, and then this year only got the scraps of attention after Zack and even White. He may well be a bust, but he's only a 2nd year player with almost no experience. Backup may be the best he'll ever become, but that would still make him better than Flacco or Johnson IMO.
