Wilson was a full participant in practice last week. That came from the team and not from any beat writers
We see the pressers they report from. It’s always been when he’s healthy he starts , I haven’t seen saleh give any degree of readiness. I think the beat has been assuming based on how much he’s been involved at the open portions of practice. My guess is he needs to wear a brace and isn’t feeling comfortable and they don’t want to put him out there against Flores blitz packages where he’ll have to move around a lot .
Sprained MCLs are not a huge injury. We've seen a number of RBs and WRs come back from them in about 3 week just this season. And those are positions that need agility every play. I really doubt this is about the injury at this point.
I doubt he does. white will backup and JJ will be the emergency QB. No point in rushing zach back. let him heal up. with that said i'm sure we'll see white at some point when GVR gets flacco killed
I doubt it’s anything other than injury and being extra cautious. Fans are grouchy so they start overthinking it.
I mean.. You could watch him throwing before the Buffalo game, he was running around just fine during pre-game In front of all the camera's. He has been a full participant In practice. Just doesn't make sense. I don't think he was wearing a brace when he was running around pre-game. So.. I doubt It. Especially since It's only a 2-4 week injury.
Funny that Rex started chirping this week of all weeks, because now we're turning into the same kind of 5-ring circus he ran his last few years here.
I'm confused. Is Zach sitting another week a good thing because he can take the time off to watch and learn or is it a bad thing because he's so terrible they wouldn't dare start him? The narrative changes on a dime here.
As maybe the biggest Wilson supporter here, I think this is a good move. Aside from making sure he's 100% healthy and that his knee can take whatever hits he gets, if he had started and the Jets lost - as I believe they will given all their problems - we'd only be subjected to more "Wilson sucks!" posts. And as others have said, maybe he can learn by watching a veteran, even if that vet is washed up.
I'm going to go down as saying I don't see what is gained by starting Joe Flacco except possibly Saleh's job which I don't think is (or should be) in jeopardy. Yes, Mike White struggled against one of the top defenses in the league. However, the Jets defense didn't do him any favors by allowing the Bills to score almost at will to start the game. When a team falls behind by that many points, they have no choice but to throw the ball to catch up. All the Bills had to do was play pass defense the rest of the game which is why White struggled. All but the top QBs would struggle faced with those circumstances. I'm not interested in seeing Flacco at QB because he isn't the future. Fortunately, I'll be in CA and won't be able to watch anyway.
Not for nothing but he injured his PCL. We should at least get the facts right before we start with the conspiracy theories.
