Dude...you're spiraling. I know exactly the post you are trying to twist....it's the one I said "don't put Wilson in against the #1 defense after an injury or he will have a game with multiple picks" I never once said start him so he could fail--that is you straight up twisting my words and I'm happy to go back to the thread. There was an entire thread where I was debating over not drafting a new QB--many others in this forum were already arguing for another QB, which I agree is outlandish, but I assure you that there are posters who are arguing for it. It seems like you've decided to pick a fight with me and are clearly willing to start mis-quoting me or twisting my words. I'm more than happy to have a heated debate, but that's not cool man.
Dozier is a starter, enunwa was a starter retired due to injury. Richardson is starter. We got second rounder for him…. I count 3 long term starters. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
In terms of starting over, in short, we are married IMO to this HC, GM, and QB for the next 2-3 years to do a correct rebuild. At the end of the day, we all want the team to do well and succeed. Doing a tear down again will just prolong everything-- Unless you have a guy like Sean Payton come available--you have to give this time to play out and develop.
To be honest none of the 1st round QBs have looked good, and lighting it up. Jones closest thing, and he hardly is lighting it up. He is playing smart error free football, where the coach not asking him to do too much. Lawrence has been bad! I watched couple of games, he had not Ben good at all. You can see potential for sure and a good play once I while, but just as many bad plays as good. Wilson had flashed, not saying good by all means, but on par with Lawrence. He’s not picking a personal fight. You just keep pumping Trevor Lawrence every chance you can get as if he’s making the Jets pay for beating the Rams by throwing three touchdowns a week and taking the league by storm. In actuality, he’s sucked and we’d all be losing our minds over how much he sucks if he was sucking here.
Oh that's what you said? I'm not picking a fight with you, I'm calling you out for being clearly biased on Lawrence because you prefer to be right than Wilson, and indirectly the jets, actually having success.
Honestly, Mac Jones looks pretty good. He’s aided by a lot around him including a great coach and running game but that doesn’t take away from the fact that he’s not turning the ball over and he’s moving the ball. That’s what you want to see out of a rookie and is the precursor to having a good career.
It's one thing to lose a bunch of games with the most rookies in the NFL. It's another to put your rookie/subpar corners on an island against Stefon Diggs as a matter of design. I'm fed up.
That dipshit Jay Feeley kept saying how absurd it was to continually single cover Diggs in man and we just kept doing it. Just like how these morons on our staff keep playing Greg Van Roten.
It's just the same old garbage in a cycle. We can focus on the picks we have all we want. But we've been rebuilding for 11 years for a reason. And things like this are why.
But my point was, he’s not ing it up. Yes he has shown the most out of all the 1st round QBs by far. And has led his team to victories consistently. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thank you for sharing that--appreciate that actually. Yes, in my mind at least, that wasn't me saying I wanted him to throw picks. That was my opinion of what would happen. Maybe you and I are just misunderstanding what we are trying to communicate? It's possible. On your second point, about you interpreting my statements about being biased towards Lawrence and wanting to be right rather than for Wilson to be good. I have posted numerous times that I am hoping to be wrong....I am pretty sure I posted that at least 3 times. I know for fact I used the words "hope to be wrong" in all of those posts. I think it's possible you might be interpreting my harsh critism as me wanting Wilson to fail-- I sincerely hope Wilson proves me wrong, I will smile as you all bash me on a thread as this team actually wins games haha
I would agree with Mac. Yes, he's looked the best. I think Bill is proving that he has earned the title as maybe the best coach ever--I can't stand the dude, but the way he develops his team and truly morphs his system around the personnel is art. McDaniels is a HOF level coordinator--time will tell if he will ever be a good head coach, but you can't argue with his resume as an OC. Jones has physical limitations and I thought they would be exposed at this level. I was WRONG on that. I thought he would be a Foles type--but I think he can be more of a Kirk Cousins and enjoy a longer and more lucrative career.
You know how much I appreciate you as a poster, JV. I'm willing to chalk Bower and I disagreements up to possibly just misunderstanding eachother on this topic-- In terms of Lawrence, I personally like a lot of his traits over Wilson. But I could understand how using this forum to vent about that can lead to debates like this....perhaps the debate wouldn't have even started if I just left my argument on what scared me about Wilson and not comparing to TL. Generally speaking: 1. I like bigger / mobile QB's--they stay healthier and can also bring increased value to the run game 2. Played against big time competition in college and on big stages 3. Played a lot of games in college and has production for long periods of times (not late bloomers) Burrow kind of debunked that....
None of that matters anymore. The playing field is level as they’re all in the big leagues now. All of their college accolades and traits are completely irrelevant. Lawrence has sucked so far as has Fields and Wilson.
I'm not usually a one and done kind of person as I know that teams usually struggle in their first year under a new HC. But this team has shown absolutely no sign that it will improve if the current GM and CS are retained. If anything, things will get worse. The team's performance this year has actually regressed as time has gone on. Another year with this current staff is just another year before they can start truly improving.
2 more drafts.. then 2 more after that...then an additional 2 drafts. Throw in 2 more drafts and we're closing in on 2030. Maybe Saleh will have this HC thing figured out by then. Hell, we might even be 7-9 by 2030.. #Can'tWait
We’re not going to move on from Douglas, Saleh, Wilson, etc. after the year. We’re also stuck with $46 million tied into Carl Lawson, Corey Davis and CJ Mosley unfortunately. I just hope that if this becomes an unmitigated disaster into next year, the good coaching candidates don’t get scooped up this off-season. The Raiders seem like a prime landing spot for Harbaugh or Doug Pederson. The Giants job could very well be open which is usually considered a good job. The Bears position should be open and I kind of think Pete Carroll retires.
