That Rose Bowl game really damaged a lot of Jets fans for a long time.

This debate reminds me of the old University of Michigan Drew Hanson vs Tom Brady controversy in the late 90s. Back then I thought Hanson had to be the no brainer choice. Shows how much I know.

Lloyd Carr was very loyal to his Juniors who had sat in the system for two+ years. Hansen didn't really have a shot as a freshman despite being a much better prospect. By year two he had a shot but Brady just didn't make many mistakes and never got hurt and got to play his entire Senior season.

It didn't help Hensen's case that he had a baseball alternative that he kept pushing. Carr hated boat-rockers after Charles Woodson tried to take the spotlight off the team and shine it on himself in the Heisman season.

That’s not how I remembered it.

I'm a huge Wolverines fan. I probably watched every available game of Tom Brady's career there.

I remember the controversy in the summer of '98 after Brian Griese had departed for the pros. Nobody around the program thought Carr was going to let a freshman start over a loyal Junior.

Are they going to beat Penn State tomorrow or have another road letdown? I’m betting on them but curious as to what you think.

They were college teammates, Griese played 11 years in the NFL but has been retired for 13 years. And yet Brady is still f'kng playing

Griese was a Wolverine 2 years earlier than Brady also.

618 passes attempted by Brady and 134 by Henson in 1998 and 1999. As I recall the competition was more Brady's to lose than Henson's to win in 1998 and Brady didn't lose it. It was then slightly more Henson's to win than Brady's to lose in 1999 and Henson didn't win it.

This was all against the backdrop of Griese's 12-0 co-Nat'l Championship in 1997 and in '98 it was all gravy.

They've had their 'no national championship' loss already to Michigan St. The question is who gets to do the honors on the 'no way you are even getting into consideration for the playoff' loss?

I really think Harbaugh could be had next season. He's been good but not great as Michigan HC and that's a program that will turn you over after repeated failure to make the playoff.

This might be the year that they finally move on from him. Ohio State had an early loss and they could’ve went into that game win or lose with a shot at the playoffs especially with that huge league against MSU.

I do think they can still go into the Ohio State game with one loss though. That’s why I’m backing them this week, plus it’s a good matchup for them. They have NFL defenders all over that defense.

Ain't this Harbaugh's best year yet? Why would they move on from him?

Michigan has unreasonable expectations. Its not the 1940s anymore. They have a loyal alum as coach who has them in the top 10. There should be talk of an extension

I think his fate for next year is all going to depend on making a really good showing in a high-profile bowl.

He's lost 4 bowl games in a row at this point. For Wolverines fans that is just as bad as it sounds.

It's hard to coach for those. You have a regular season then a month off and plenty of distractions. Lots of good coaches surprisingly perform poorly in bowl games. Spurrier was like that

You've repeated the "talent" mantra every day for months but you are reluctant to talk about performance. You must realize that your talent claims are strictly opinion and performance is reality. You talk about developing that talent but Wilson is not the only player that needs development and serving the development of the entire team is hampered by focusing on playing Wilson at this time whether he can perform or not. Your claim of White's future as nothing more than a game manager is also an unsupported opinion so there's no need to couch it as gospel.
