So is Wilson "really" not healthy enough to play here or are the Jets really flirting with letting Mike White take this job over?

Between the QB stuff and the defense folding up to the tune of like 130 points allowed the last 3 weeks I'm not even sure what to think about this cluster**** anymore lol.

As is the case recently with us, we'll just have to agree to disagree with most of this. The only thing I agree with are your bolded sentences. I think your underlined sentence is total nonsense, but that's your opinion, so be it.

You make a change so you don't create a QB controversy, and this is the year to develop Zach. This year isn't about wins and losses with so many rookies and young players playing and Saleh and LaFleur learning on the job. The Jets made a huge investment in him and the plan was to start him and develop him. You don't abandon a plan unless it was a total failure and it wasn't. Some of the reasons that White looks better than Zach are Zach's fault, but most of them are things out of Zach's control. A rookie QB is going to struggle most of the time.

There are only two reasons why Zach should not start the rest of the season: one is if he is not healthy, and two is if he clearly isn't ready and can't run the offense. IMO the latter isn't the case, so Zach should start. IMO it would be dumb to keep starting White when the plan was to play and develop Zach.

I couldn't possibly disagree more!! IMO that's a totally ridiculous take!

This seems like a chicken or the egg conundrum to me. How do you categorize the pass below? To me timing or no timing it’s looks like plain inaccuracy and poor ball placement to my layman eyes. If you are going to miss on a pass like that, I expect you miss to the outside. I rather he sail that ball over the WRs head out of bounds than low and inside. There’s no rush why is the timing off? Someone explain to me his thought process.

I just watched the all-22 from the Indy Game. I know it conflicts with the storyline and the hype, but Mike White is not taking over the starting job. It's just not going to happen. I know the 400 yard stat in his first start looks amazing, but from what I've seen Mike White is good for what he is, but he is limited in a way that just doesn't change. He has the stuff you can learn, and he mostly doesn't have the stuff you can't learn. In my opinion, Mike White is as good or near as good as he will ever be as a pro. If he breaks 350 yards passing against the Bills Defense, I will backtrack this so hard but I just don't see it coming. And don't come at me if he breaks it with the help of an 80 yard screen lol.

It certainly appears that Zach's placement on this throw was off. I agree that the ball should have been to the outside IF the WR was supposed to go outside, and in general, one would want to miss to the outside, but maybe the WR was supposed to turn in or maybe Zach thought he was going to turn in. It could have just been a miscommunication between Zach and the WR. It could have been that Zach was thinking too much or that he just made a poor throw.

IMO it's hard to tell whether that was a timing route, but if it was a timing play, then Zach was late. It could have also just been a great play by the defender. Perhaps it looked like the timing play was there, but the defender read it perfectly or maybe baited Zach, and then made the play.

You'd have to ask Zach and LaFleur what happened on that play. All I know is that I only saw a couple of throws like that from Zach in college, and that's why I love and believe in him so much.

@NCJetsfan where did all this arrogance come from? Am barely 1/2 way thru this thread.

    What's up?

Yes and no, timing is about understanding the offense what the defense is doing and your receivers seeing the same thing.

Accuracy is you put the ball where you are looking.

I just checked in on all-22. He throws with anticipation as Cole is breaking off his corner route, which really requires more chemistry than timing per se. In college he probably just got away with a lackadaisical throw at times as well, since BYU didn't have a high quality schedule. That mistake would be fixed by more reps with Cole and knowing he needs to drive that ball harder against NFL defenses. Nothing that can't be fixed.

Maybe this is an example of me being “ too harsh” but to me that’s an inexcusable INT at any level. If that’s anticipation, it’s piss poor. It’s a corner route, throw it to anticipatory spot in the corner not at the WR. Cole is breaking towards the corner with nothing but grass between him and the sideline. Make it make sense. I’d feel much better about it being an inaccurate throw than that explanation.

Limited participant in practice today. Just a hunch but I bet if White didn't play so well, Wilson would be in line for Sunday's start. This week they still have the limited stuff they can hang their decisions on but if White plays well Sunday, next week will be interesting

There's no point in looking for wins ...although we all want them badly

Based on what I've seen Mike White can play well ...as NC has posted and I have to agree the Season is about the rookie litmus test i.e. Showcase Wilson win or lose

Why? Because the tremendous investment at pick # 2 and now you roll with that. Let's find out how talented he is

Mike White is talented enough to get some wins even getting a W against the Bills who knows

But his ceiling may not be good enough for a Playoff run or aChampionship that ZW is supposed to lead us to

Of course I could be entirely wrong

The Wilson haters are amazing to me. Notice it is all the same people calling for White that did not want us to draft Zach.

This is so lazy, I can go through every QB and show you a poor throw. I can most likely show you several a game.

We get it you don't like Zach and hoping he fails and that White is some sort of Savior.

White is starting for only one reason and this is because of fans and media like you that want Zach and the Jets to fail. Whoever plays QB this week against the number 1 defense in the NFL will struggle. If Zach played it would be a referendum with White it will expected.

Zach will play next week, I hope he keeps developing.

The draft is over; you won. Let it go. You sound crazy. If you bothered to actually read my posts on the subject you would be able to ascertain that I’ve been somewhat on the fence with regards to staying with White once Zach is fully healthy. This fatal attraction shit w/ Zach is fucking weird. Also stop using the pronoun “we”; not everyone here is a Zach psycho.

What's truly lazy is to write off those who don't agree with you as "hater(s)" thinking that any question gets answered that way. Probably more lazy though, is creating a fantasy that there are Jets fans hoping any player or the team fails simply because they don't share your views.

White is starting this week because his performance among the three quarterbacks who have played is best. "You play to win the game." I hope next week's, and every week's, quarterback is the guy who has demonstrated he gives the team the best chance to win.

CVAL, how about rooting for both QBs to succeed so we have a good QB foundation for the next two three years?

Man get over the “haters” and wishing ZW to fail miserably. Many here in this string that want White starting admit that ZW is the future AND we want him to do well.

I'm excited to see how Mike White will play the Bills, since it looks like it'll be a trial by fire. So far I've liked his post-snap decision making, and not locking on to any particular receiver.

Zach Wilson doesn't look ready yet based on the starts he has had so far, particularly on hitting those underneath throws and screens. The game seems to still be a bit fast for him at this stage. I'm confused as to why people are arguing that Mike White is a 4 year vet, while playing no real games during that time, but Zach Wilson can't sit. You can still learn a lot being on the sidelines, and not that long ago people were worried about Zach Wilson being David Carred this season.

At this stage I'm just hoping one of them turns into a competent FQB that the Jets have been lacking since I've started following the game, regardless of draft position and perceived talent. I still remember watching Hard Knocks in 2010, and some guy named Danny Woodhead was dropped in favour of keeping 4th rounder Joe McKnight for his talent and potential, despite Woodhead looking more productive at the time.
