The Jordan Love era begins (for one game, at least). https://www.uppermichiganssource.co...-rodgers-has-covid-19-will-miss-sundays-game/
Crazy news about Rodgers. I thought he was vaccinated. That kills my fantasy team too. I'm in a 2 QB league for fantasy and my QB's were Russell Wilson, Aaron Rodgers, and Jameis Winston. When Wilson got hurt I picked up Zach Wilson. When he got hurt I picked up Sam Darnold. Now this week I am starting Mike White and Jordan Love. What a year! (Somehow I am 5-3).
It appears Rodgers lied about his vaccination status; if that's true, after he recovers, he should be suspended for multiple games. Before anyone objects, this isn't Cole Beasley, who's unvaccinated and upfront about it. This is a guy who lied about his status and made a mockery of the whole league.
Jets need to hire a few dozen covid positive people to go hang around the upcoming team's best players.
I don't disagree with you about being punished, but him lying to the media is different than lying to the league and officials. He was very vague in his answer to the media by just saying he was "immunized". There is no way the Packers didn't know about this. The fact that the NFL doesn't require any type of proof or anything is asinine. Joke of a league
This is apparently what he meant when he said that he was "immunized": https://www.nbcsports.com/chicago/bears/did-aaron-rodgers-lie-about-his-covid-19-vaccination-status
I'm not talking about him lying to the media, that's been 100% confirmed. I'm saying it appears he was also violating protocols required of unvaccinated players, in which case he must have been lying to somebody or they would have called him out on it.
I'm thinking what he meant by immunization and the alternative treatment would be: monoclonal antibody treatment. Which I'm hoping that is what he meant, thus he wouldn't be lying about being immune.
I wonder what the 'alternative treatment' jeopardy boy had ' Josh Gordon gets kicked out of the league for years & years for his alternative treatments. Rodgers is the golden boy tho
Putting everything else aside, this certainly qualifies as being an incredibly bad teammate. So many people (including me, not that it mattered) didn't have a choice about this - get vaccinated or get out. He actually could be unvaccinated and still play, as long as he did the other things he would need to do. Instead he lied to everyone's faces about it, and completely ignored every protocol. Whatever the penalty is for that (I assume a hefty fine and at least a couple of games suspension), he absolutely has to get that, or the league looks even worse. Don't forget the culpability of the league (and presumably the team) on this - they have acknowledged that he was officially listed as unvaccinated. How, then, has he been able to walk all over the sidelines, go to meetings, etc., without a mask on? Nobody at the league noticed that he never wore a mask at a news conference?
Owners have been a little twitchy about it because it's also a political issue but it's hard to see them taking the hard line against a human ATM machine like Rodgers.
They also haven't suspended or put Watson on the commissioner's exempt list. So maybe it's a quarterback thing.
