Man TGG folks just get carried away with the firing threads, but then again, it did wonders for Sunday’s game to prove many wrong.
There is a different between incapable and just making mental errors or mistakes. as we just seen sunday the players are capable. but they are young and incosistent
yeah our scheme overcame missing our WR1, LT 1 and 2, and QB1 and found ways to make the game easy for the players. It's not a talent issue, is that we have young talent that are still learning the game and prone to mistakes. It's a lack of experience. we do have lack of talent in a few areas on offense. mainly RG and TE but even those groups played decent
LaFleur Stole ,ummm, borrowed McDaniels game plan of how to play a young QB. Props to ML for learning. The uneducated fan base, well we are Jets fans.
As the HC said, some days young teams look like they are going to the Super Bowl and on other they look like they never played the game before. That's the deal.
Douglas isn't going anywhere, nor is Saleh. "Best case" for those who are thirsting for blood, maybe LaFleur gets canned after this season if he reverts to the form he displayed before last week, but even that's a stretch. This is a young team. Everyone - well almost everyone - had been calling for a "true rebuild" for years, well this is what that looks like. On balance there's more talent on this team than we've had in years, but of course there are still some holes - it's like an airplane: poke a fuel holes in the wings and it might still be able to fly, but it's going to be a rocky flight. I get it. What we've seen so far brings instant flashbacks and PTSD to those of us who have rooted for them for so long, but despite not being perfect, I think Douglas has done a much better job all around than anyone since at least Parcells, and IMO better than Tuna. But hey, it's a fan board, so post whatever your opinions are.
He won’t get fired this offseason but he’s leaning closer to failure than savior. This roster is horrendous and it has been for three years. We’ve gotten WORSE each year. The seat should be piping hot, but it isn’t.
I wonder if the lookout on the Titanic said: "bet they didn't see that iceberg coming...". JD took his first homerun swing and it made it to the warning track. Give him credit for finally wanting to shop at Tiffany's instead of his usual dumpster diving for talent. He was making the play any Big Market GM would have made for available, roster changing prime talent. Better luck next time JD..
Not the first. He was also in on Chandler Jones but lost out and he tried to trade for Cooper but only if the Jets could work out a contract restructure with him. But, where he has tried to make big splash trades, edge and WR, should give us a hint as to where he will go in the draft. Although. It might also tell us what he thinks about the strength of those players in the draft.
Guys. No offense but reviving this thread after Joe did the right thing seems like an overkill. New season, new excitements. Great free agency so far and an exciting draft upon us. I am locking this thread. If things go south next year, feel free to start a new thread asking for his head
