I'm sorry that Davis got injured, but if this is what it takes for Mims to get a start and playing time with LaFleur and Saleh, so be it. I hope he goes off for 4-5 receptions for 150+ yards and a couple of TDs.
It's comical at this point. Now the big storyline is "well Mims gets his shot!" but does he really? A bad backup QB making his first career NFL start who just threw his first NFL pass last week will be the guy navigating the offense and we're expecting Mims to somehow shine? No one is going to shine. We're going to score 10 points at most and lose by at least two scores. Hopefully someone is able to dig up this post in a few days and laugh at me.
Corey and Zach have such a great connection that one doesn't even want to play if the other one is not on the field! Seriously though, this is awful. I thought we were done with these kinds of seasons and these kinds of games. So frustrating.
This is another sign of a dysfunctional coaching staff. Mims is getting less playing time than their league worst tight ends. What's up with that?!!
Yes. I know the deck is stacked against it, but in a post in another thread, I commented that even with White or Johnson at QB, I hope he goes off. Both have talent or they wouldn't be in the NFL Johnson has had a few good games in his career and White was decent last week. The Jets are gonna get creamed anyway, so it wouldn't bother me if Mims was the only Jet to catch a pass and he caught about 10 passes. I want Saleh to realize what an idiot he has been and what a moron LaFleur is, and make major changes to how the offense is run/handled.
I haven't seen anyone say that they're "expecting" Mims to shine. I said that I "hope" that he does really well or would love to see it, which is totally different that "expecting" it.
Mims will have "football magnets" on his hands. White will chick it up and the ball will just stick to him! Jets win 27-17!
