Vegas lines and analyst predictions are always generous. Go to just about any website that is picking the score of Sundays games. They will always predict just about every game will be within 1 to 3 points.
Vegas lines are not always generous. They're pretty damn good at their jobs. I would agree that this looks like a 31-10 game but as the line goes "Vegas always knows."
Normally I'd say that this has that classic Jets "trap game" feel to it, the one where we somehow, inexplicably, get our stuff together and look competent for four quarters and surprise a team we have no business being in a game with. This one has that written all over it, but I can't bring myself to think that it'll actually happen, considering the beating that we just took and how much more talent on offense the Bengals have in comparison to the Patriots.
Rex was the best coach we've had since Parcells. He can say whatever he wants. And honestly, I'd have him back in a heartbeat.
I'd take him back too, especially if we could get pre lap band surgery Rex, who was much better than post lap band surgery Rex, who was still better than anyone we've had since. Although that's not saying much. Oh and you can throw in Schotty or even Paul Hackett at this point and I'd still be onboard.
Wasn't Rex's record following the bye abysmal as well? If so, it's kind of hypocritical for him to criticize Saleh so harshly, even though he's right.
He lost to the Bills on a Monday night game after the Bills didn't practice once during the week. He doesn't really have the right to criticize anyone about not getting a team ready to play.
It’s been 6 games of pure shit in the 1st quarter, Rex never rivaled that distinction. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well at least he seemed passionate about it! All Salah saying these are grown men! Well these grown men and CS have been just egregious! The disfunction and unpreparedness is historical. It is so bad, might have to clean house. If he doesn’t right the ship quickly, might be time. I don’t think I am being harsh. It has been that bad! Really disappointed in the preparedness and effort level more than the talent level. That’s on coaching. And I liked the Salah hiring. I think they need to get some experience on the staff. Maybe hire a consultant. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Quite honestly, I've yet to see us do anything with a greater rate of success than Hackett's patented 3rd down and long draw play.
Anyone who wants Rex back is delusional. His team being poorly prepared cost us an AFC Championship. He also regularly got blown out and embarrassed. If those teams weren't stacked with talent at every level (besides quarterback) he never would have won anything. Once he had influence on personnel decisions the team got stripped of talent and we are still feeling the effects. I am not saying Saleh is doing a good job yet but don't listen to this idiot who is trashing a rookie head coach for the same mistakes Rex continued to make his entire career.
Well he is the last coach we have had that was worth a damn. And he cared about the jets! Not saying I want him back, but he would certainly be infinitely better than Gase and Salah so far. One thing Rex never lacked was passion, even we were blown out. His teams came back and played hard. I don’t remember sitting through a game where I said these guys aren’t trying. I do that weekly now. Salah has been disappointment for me. This team not ready to play every week. That’s on the CS! Blame JD because there is no experience in the room. He allowed that to happen. If Rex was coach, we would NOT be scoreless in 1st quarter though 6 games. There would be no talk of: these are grown men, etc. The last 3 coaches have been just miserable at handling the teams! Just historically bad!!! Similar BS. I will give you one, Rex was horrible about personnel, that was his ultimate downfall. And his big mouth. But I could live with that, it was fun and made it interesting. Only thing is Salah has some time to right the ship, if I were him would bring in experienced consultant to help him. Look past his ego. If we go 1-15 not sure he makes it to next year, because t probably does. There must be improvement. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
If you want to bring somebody back, to hell with Rex he was incompetent at the end bring back the guy who gave him decent teams Mancini, at least his reason for getting the heave ho was because he knew Farve wasn’t better for the team than Pennington. He was right
Exactly! Someone pointed out on Twitter that Rex and the Jets got creamed by the Bills 38-3 (or something like that) following a bye. After the 2010 season, Rex would come up with great game plans 3-4 times a year. The rest of the time he was lost and had no adjustments to make.
Not only was it a bye week, it was an extended bye week because it was supposed to be in Buffalo and they got snowed in, so the game was moved to Monday in Detroit at a neutral site. That was already after the Bills (with Kyle Orton) shellacked the Jets earlier in the season 43-23 so there was no reason to take them lightly. That bye week game was the final nail in the coffin for Rex. The guy literally got fired for a bye week game and he's talking shit.
Saleh deserves it from anyone and everyone after last week. Win 54-13 and fat Rex would have nothing to say
Funny, these days I tend to remember two AFC title games before any embarrassing losses from Rex Ryan. The idea of Robert Saleh going 28-20 over his first three years as a head coach is a wet dream at this point.
