I can't remember which game it was last year, but I remember (as a big Sam supporter) thinking "He actually is holding the team back. Can't just blame Gase." I think it might have been that Miami game. At that moment, I was ready to move on from Sam. Not because he doesn't have talent or ability, but because he is too inconsistent. He can't be trusted to win each week. Also, he needed a fresh start for any chance of success. That, plus the Jets having the #2 pick, made me want to move on and select Zach Wilson.
This was posted as satire to say he sucks (and got benched yesterday for a guy who threw like 5 consecutive dirt balls). You didn't pick up on that?
Its tough to say anything positive about anything this franchse does or has done after losing an NFL game by 41 points. In regard to Sam, we have all seen his story play out before, its nothing new to us. He started out great, then regressed, then regressed to the bench. Remember his first game at Detroit, after the pick 6 on his first NFL pass, they rolled 40+ on the Lions and he just regressed from there ever since. He has always struggled against good d's, especially BB. But just because we were correct in moving on from Sam, doesn't mean we picked the right guy with Zach, I am still not convinced yet. He had the one flash game against Tn. Nothing before or since. Now he's out for a month. I do not get franchise QB Vibes when I watch him, his mechanics are not right, his constant moving out side of the pocket is not good, and his always looking to throw into coverages downfield is also wrong. He has a lot to learn & correct.
A 4 year starter has a 14 point higher passer rating than a rookie and you thinks that's good? Why not point out that Justin Fields has a lower passer rating while you are at it.
Sam's passer rating is .1 lower than his rookie year and he's in his 4th year. Let that sink in. The guy fucking blows.
Darnold got benched for a guy that came in and went 3/14 for 33 yards in garbage time. Did you see Walker try to throw the ball yesterday? Darnold sucks dude. Trading down might've been the right move, but trying to cherry pick statistics to prop Darnold up to prove that point is silly. He's going to go sit behind Mahomes for the next five years after this season and collect his money just like Geno did with Russell Wilson.
They all fucking suck right now. It just Is what It Is. None of It makes any of It better for me. Tired of this team.
I get it. But you expect guys like Wilson, Fields and Lawrence to struggle in their first year in the pros. Darnold is in his 4th year and he still looks like the same guy he was in year 1.
