I don't know why any of you are angry. You had to see this ass kickin coming a mile off. The Jets never beat Belichek. In fact, the Jets never beat ANYBODY after the bye week. So, the Jets revert to form and all of you are in shock. Seriously??? Relax, Saleh and his buddy MLF aren't gonna be fired anytime soon before their contracts are up. Neither is JD. There is no substitute for experience so going into the season, the FO and the CS had to know they were gonna suck. They just couldn't say it publicly. It wouldn't surprise me at all if this level of ineptitude wasn't totally expected by JD and the entire CS. All the CS homers will have their work cut out for them trying to excuse this latest shit show. No, it wasn't because everyone wearing green is a rookie who has never seen a NFL game from field level. The Jets historically have never played well after the bye week. They simply don't. So, accept that and move on to next week's shit show. Save your excuses for the Bengals. I'm sure you'll need them..
I don't think any of us expected to see the Jets upset New England. But, New York was completely lifeless. From the first play they acted like they were relaxing at the beach and a football game broke out.
In fact, I DID go fishing Sunday Had a banner day too. Much better than watching the Jets get suplexed into the Foxborough turf. I did record the game but looks like I'll just delete it.
I'm angry with Saleh because the Jets have been getting torched by screen plays and short dump offs in the flat all season long, only to come out of the bye week and get slaughtered by screen passes and dump offs to the RB's in the flat.
I did not see this coming. Wilson's injury was really unfortunate, but it was already 17-0 at that moment. Just a pathetic effort by the Jets. I think Saleh's true motto is All Gas No Plan.
So my goals for the Jets this season may or may not align with yours, to me it really isn't a matter of wins/losses; *I would like to see growth, *see our young QB develop, *the coaching staff demonstrate that they can compete at the NFL level, *see our young nucleus develop for a possible playoff run in a year or two... There is No reasonable excuse for yesterday's dumpster fire!! Two weeks off after barely showing up in England. Offense: I am not ready to start the Fire LaFleur chants, but he is Gase-like!!! WTF, is up with this guy, is he just over his head for this position??? Besides the end-around to Moore yesterday, his offense has shown zero creativity so far this season. Defense: Mosley was out, but did we play a defensive line yesterday, gapping holes on almost every run, non-existent pass-rush or coverage, Saleh says after the game, the defense played their butts off, ....seriously!!!! Jones killed us in the 1st game with short passes, yesterday, short passes & screens.. Where is the pride?? This is Michigan/Ohio St LSU/Alabama....this isn't just another game!!! you have to show up against the Patriots, one win vs them is enough to solidify the path back to respectability. Total disgrace of coaching & player execution & effort!!!!!!
I tend to agree with this about the bye thing, however, what I saw yesterday was total epic failure on every level. Like the first game they played NE. Like Denver. Yesterday, they were an abused dog quivering in the corner while getting beaten by some scumbag abuser. It was beyond pathetic to look at and an embarassment to professional sports in general. Guys making that kind of dough have no right to conduct themselves like that, at least show up and try. They did none of that. They let their QB get mauled and offered no response a la Tom Wilson / NY Rangers. Heads rolled after that sh*t show, however, you are correct in that these guys are here and will remain here. Somehow, ownership has to intervene here and bring in some experience to straighten this crap out and soon or there will be riots at the mausoleum. Maybe a directer of Football Operations, something, anything.
Trying to not be eliminated before Halloween has been my goal for a while now. We live to fight another day, fellas.
I saw a loss coming. I didn't see a 43 point shellacking coming from a team that has asked its rookie QB to do as little as possible.
I expected the Jets to lose by around 14-17 points, but not by 41 points. I disagree that they should have known or accepted that they were going to suck. Yes, with so many rookies, young players, and a rookie HC and OC, they should have known that there were going to be ups and downs and some struggles, but where are the ups? So far, we've mostly only seen downs. If this level of ineptitude was expected and accepted, then they all should be fired and the franchise folded. How the Jets have played after the bye should have absolutely NO bearing on how they played after the bye this year!!!! We have a new CS and practically new roster. History has zero bearing on it.
So far NC, history is running true to form. Having a new CS didn't matter. The Jets still sucked after the bye. Its what they do. You can't deny the pattern here. The CS was hoping they would get a mulligan for '21 which would have worked as long as the team showed some level of competence. Sadly they have not and it reflecting poorly on the CS. They can't ride the ROOKIE excuse as long a the team is showing NO progress on the field. They will find out quickly that here in the tri-state, results matter. The only way this season could be a surprise for the CS is that they really don't have any idea how to put a roster together. In the back of my mind, I'm thinking of another young HC the jets gave up on too fast. His name: Pete Carroll. What I am tired of is Jet University. The college where young HC wannabes come to learn how to be an HC, then get fired and move on. One day, the Jets will hire a HC with prior successful experiences. That Future HC will put together a staff that know their jobs day one. Maybe we'll be a real NFL team by then.. I can dream.. Its all I have left as a Jet Fan.
The back of your mind is wrong. Carroll failed with NE after he failed with the Jets. Carroll himself said that he had to fail a couple of times before he sat down and took a hard look at himself, his coaching style, philosophy, etc. for a year. That brought about the changes that made him successful at USC and then with the Seahawks.
I would have been content with Carroll learning on the job for a couple more years rather than having Kotite for that time.
Again, another graduate of The New York Jet University of NFL Coaching.. Like Mangini, Bowles, Ryan and others.
