Colin Powell passed from complications of Covid-19 early this morning. One of the crossover politicos that are so rare today, Powell served in both Republican and Democratic administrations. This is a big deal. Powell is one of the few American leaders whom the majority of the country will genuinely mourn. From Reagan to Obama he was a trailblazer both domestic and international. There are many accounts of meeting him in passing in public areas and all of them speak to his ability to be both down to earth and larger than life at the same time. This humble worldliness is something that our modern generation of politicians should aspire to. It's the root of real leadership. RIP General Powell. You will be missed.
RIP, and condolences to his family. He was a great American hero who put Country over Party. This Country needs more people like him.
HS in the Bronx. Most GF's from the Bronx. 1st Wife from the Bronx. Cousins living in the Bronx. I lived right across the river from the Bronx. Used to walk to the old Yankee Stadium.
Born and Raised in Manhattan, NYC my friend... Funny how that works... Lower Manhattan was closer to Brooklyn. Upper Manhattan closer to the Bronx.
I grew up on the same side of the river in Washington Heights. Used to walk down the viaduct and over the bridge to Yankee Stadium. Was like a 15 minute walk.
