Yes, I remember that you said that before the draft. You were wrong then and you're still wrong now! You're judging Wilson 3 games into his rookie season with an incompetent OC. How wise is that? Wilson isn't too small. If he's too small, then Sam is too small. Wilson is one inch shorter and 7 pounds lighter. I guess Russell Wilson is too small and Drew Brees was too small.
He totally made the right call. Having the right QB is more important than all the other holes put together. It's totally sad that you have deluded yourself into thinking that keeping Sam was the right move, and that you're blaming JD and Zach for the mess so far and not the real persons responsible: Mac for his abysmal drafting and foolish FA signings; Saleh for hiring LaFleur as OC to know how to develop a rookie QB and an offense built around the talents of the players here; and LaFleur who has been worse than Gase at this point. His game plans, play design, play calling, misuse of players, has been a total clusterfuck.
You know as well as I that he would NEVER have done that here this season, so it is irrelevant what he's doing with Carolina. If he were still our QB, we'd be starting White this week, because Sam would already be curled up in the fetal position somewhere.
Even if JD had traded down and added another 1st, 2nd and 3rd round pick this past draft and used them all on offense, with LaFleur as OC, they ALL would have been struggling and the Jets' offense would probably have been on better. LaFleur IS THE PROBLEM, not JD and not Zach!!!!
Worse oline now? Sam's oline in 2019 was worse than now, and Sam won 6 in a row. But I know it's early and have no issues giving ZW a full season.
I think our sour grapes are getting a little carried away now. Curled up in the fetal position somewhere? On a relative basis Zach Wilson has an embarrassment of riches supporting him in 2021 compared to what the Jets provided Darnold with. And hopefully the whole group will eventually get it figured out.
Sorry, but that's utter BS! Yes,sometimes the person who takes offense may be somewhat insecure/sensitive, but more often than not, the person talking is being condescending and is an insensitive ass. Also, both can be true. The recipient can be somewhat insecure or sensitive, and the speaker can be an insensitive, condescending ass. I can see that because I know that I have been an insensitve and condescending ass at times. So have you. At least I own it. You're a knowledgeable fan and great poster, but you are totally condescending at times. Own it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, compounded by what he had already suffered here, and with the beating that Zach has taken so far, and continued horroble OL play and worse play by our WRs and RBs, I think Sam would have become totally useless by now. and possibly pondering retirement.
Love ya too, man, as a friend. I'm glad we can disagree without taking it personal. But we have never been further apart on a issue. So far it looks like I was/am right about keeping Sam and trading down from #2 overall. Maybe Wilson will prove me wrong, and I really hope he does. For now, he just looks like Browning Nagle out there to me. Old guys like us ( at least me, anyway) remember that the jets spent all of 1992 trying to convince themselves Nagle was their savior, and he proved them wrong (7 TDS, 17 INTS). After 1 year, they gave that up and traded for Boomer. The jets may stay longer with Wilson (probably 2-3 years at this rate ) than Nagle since they took Wilson so high in the draft. Or maybe because they gave up (forego) so much in terms of draft capital by not trading out of that draft position ( and filling a battery of needs) wherein he was selected.
@NCJetsfan Ur kinda missing the point with sam vs zach. You saying 'sam would suck here too', even if true, is not the point. JoeD had 2 doors to choose....Door A had Sam Darnold plus 3 extra 1st round picks, while Door B had Zach Wilson. So even if SD played no better than ZW, Sam's door came with 3 extra 1st round picks. Picks we don't get with Zach. So Zach has to be much better than Sam to justify taking him. Like 3 1st round picks better. And so far, Zack doesn't even look as good as Sam, let alone way better.
I'm not missing anything! The point is that Zach has great potential to become a top 10 FQB in the NFL. That's worth more than a few more draft picks. You couldn't possibly be more wrong about Zach not looking as good as Sam, and judging Zach after 3 games with all the dropped passes and sorry ass OL play, is absurd.
I have at times. usually during the draft and have admitted as much. but this point I am not. even when I am an ass, I'm at the low end of the spectrum around these parts. But I know when i'm being an ass because sometimes it takes a bigger asshole to make someone realize they were being an asshole.
It's definitely the worst right now. The line is on pace to set records against the rush right now lol
We've had some God-awful contracts in the past, but that Trumaine Johnson has to go down as the absolute worst one to date.
only further proving my point. but go ahead and have the last word mr maturity. you sure are acting like a grown adult right now
