Here's all the perspective you need: 0 - 3. You want more perspective, see the rest of the stats.

we all know we suck. the point is debating what is broken on the team to fix it

The debate is what isn't broken on this team

Yep. Debate what needs to be done with the Jets; talking about other failures is totally irrelevant and unproductive. No need to go there. It doesn't make this team or any player on it any better.

Yeah - a JETS message board. Not a Fields, Lawrence, Jones message board. They. Don't. Matter.

Allen was on a horrible offensive roster his first year. Like one of the worst in the league.

fair enough - and to be fair he was pretty awful that first year - probably getting confused with the current state of things :)

Yeah, I think it was the second year where the Bills/Jets organizations began differing in their approach. The first years were the same - no offensive line, no receivers, running for his life with no help whatsoever. He was forced to play a lot of hero ball. I think Darnold’s year was similar, some good things and some bad, but the second year the bills added free agent offensive linemen, cole Beasley, John brown, Dawson Knox, etc., and Allen was able to have some equals around him to start playing with and learning correctly. I don’t think Darnold had that his second year

I want to say three things.

    1. Peyton Manning started 3-13 and Troy Aikman started 0-15, so don't give up on Wilson just yet.

    2. Before we traded him I wished we would have kept Darnold and traded the pick for a huge hall, but it didn't happen.

    3. It could be worse, we could have had Justin Fields with our pick, who was sacked 9 times and only completed 6 of his 20 passing attempts. Yep many of you actually wanted Fields. LOL

i mean they kinda do. it's how you compare. how could you know someone is doing good or bad without someone to compare it to. it's like playing a game with 1 team

I 10000% agree on Wilson. Giving up on him right now is insane, in my opinion.

I think the general consensus, at this point, is everyone around him needs to be better, including the line and the coaching staff

I'm with ya on point #2. I wanted the jets so badly to keep Sam and move that #2 overall for picks. Sorry to say it again, but it was a great chance for Douglas to improve a pathetic roster and he blew it.

Does it really matter how many picks JD manages to rathole? His talent evaluation skillset isn't anything like we were told it would be so, having more DP's only means JD will have more opportunity to blow the picks.

While the performance of any other player in the past may be looked at to see what is possible, nothing anyone else has ever done will help or hinder anyone today in how well they perform. Every guy needs to produce his own results. Hoping that your guy is going to the Hall of Fame because other guys did is a bit crazy.

he's a young player. most QBs struggle as a rookie. we also faced 3 really good defenses. out o-line has been awful and we lead the league in drops. If you want to shit on zach in that situation then you clearly don't see the big picture. there is a reason darnold is playing well and 3-0 right now. he has great WRs, the best RB in football arguably, and a great defense to keep games close. Lets wait and see what zach can do as he learns and the team gets better around him

I get fans who are saying "If we kept Sam he would be doing just as bad as Zach on our team with a bad Oline".

BUT...would you rather have Sam Darnold struggling (but with 3 extra 1st round picks in the bank), or Zack Wilson struggling with nothing beyond the roster we already have? Zach Wilson will have to be A LOT better than Darnold to justify walking away from all those top picks. And right now ZW is looking like he might actually be a lot WORSE than SD.

Fans who say "We had to reset the QB clock" sound a lot like the owner saying "We had to reset the fan expectation clock". The Johnson Twins bought 3 years without having to worry about "FIRE SOMEONE" banners flying around game day. In fact half the Jets fans are saying "We are rebuilding with a rookie QB....we don't expect more than a few wins".

Zach Wilson, hands down. I want no fuckin part of that clown Darnold ever again.

And for the record, Zach Wilson has played 3 nfl games in his life with the worst offensive line in creation. I would pause on claiming that right now he looks a lot worse than Sam Darnold. That's not a fair assessment. Sam Darnold right now looks better than Josh Allen did in his rookie year also. How'd that pan out?

    Young player. Yep.
Most rookie QBs struggle. That's why most shouldn't be thrown into the fire on day one.
Three really good defenses. How about three good defenses?
    O-line awful. Yep.
Lead the league in drops. Okay.
Shit on Zach. Nope, I never did - you made that part up.
    Big picture. 0 - 3.
Darnold is 3 - 0. Nothing to do with Wilson's performance.
Let's see what Zach can do. Fine. Let's leave every other guy who has ever played QB out of it - they have absolutely nothing to do with what Wilson does.

I didn't say you specifically and darnold only proves my point. ANd comparing rookie QBs lets you know how they are coming along. I wouldn't compare zach to brady or darnold. bu comparing him to the other rookies makes plenty of sense.
