Perrine offers the better blitz pickup IMO so I’d prefer him to Adams bit o wouldn’t mind Adams getting touches either. I don’t know what would have to happen for Davis to get benched but it hasn’t happened yet. I said in the Titans thread mims should be a consideration now.
If I was putting money on this, I would put money on JD doing nothing. I don't think he has the balls or the will to do it. Simply because it would tarnish what he has claim to. Although I could easily argue him keeping him does much worse for his image. I think, honestly, JD would garner a lot of respect from this fan base if he cut GVR.
yeah carter and ty are just bad in pass protection and ty has hands of stone. carter should be the lead back and coleman the 3rd down back and ty should just be there to spell carter
If there's one learning from this, both for the Front Office and for Jets fans, it's that just because a player starts looking better towards the end of the season - when all is lost anyway - it doesn't mean they will carry any momentum into the following season. Van Rotten should have been dumped early. Showing up in Week 16 doesn't count.
He's not wrong though. Wilson Is at the very bottom of the league at getting the ball out of his hands after the snap. I think there Is only 2-3 QB's who hold It longer right now. They, have a much better line then we do. GVR Is a trash can, I agree, but I didn't read It as him being malicious. Just as honest.
when you are the worst starter on the team you really don't get the right to say that whether he is wrong or right. Q was asked about his good personal day and he didn't want to talk about it and said they can talk about the negative. He didn't want to enjoy the fact he played well because the team didn't. He said way too many mental errors and they have to pick each other up and not let it avalanche. GVR should have said we need to protect our QB better and give him more time. he's the most pressured QB in the NFL with the least time to throw
Just bench Van Rotten because he sucks. I agree on his comments being stupid, especially when hes playing like the worst guard in the NFL, but you cut a guy for comments like that and then everyone else thinks they can't share what they are thinking.
I wouldn't cut him for his comments. I would cut his ass because he's the worst lineman in the league
I don't care what his status or position Is. It doesn't matter to me at all. Who gives a shit? Truth Is the truth. Facts are facts. He has his own BS to answer for as well. Who cares? What does Q have to do with anything? How Is that scenario the same? I don't get it. He should've said whatever he wanted to say.. It's part of, you know, individuality. I'm not bothered by It, I think more people should be critical right now, It's a shit show for a reason. I don't care about the perception because the perception for me Is already atrociously bad. Oh well. If he doesn't have time to throw, then he should probably speed up his internal clock, no? The play calls should be better, no? You can't have the longest time holding the ball If those stats are true. I mean, It's common sense.
Whether he's right or wrong is irrelevant. He's being a bad teammate by pointing the finger. It's just extra stupid because GVR has been by far the biggest problem with our OL.
“He’s got to learn, this is the NFL, you’ve got to get the ball out. You can’t hold on to it trying to make a play and throw it deep down the field. And we’ve got to protect him better, it starts with us up front. So we got to get on the same page, I thought we were better today with our communication for the most part,” Van Roten Literally took accountability as well and said It starts with the OL. It's not throwing anyone under the bus, unless It was just him being critical of Zach Wilson. This was not the case at all. It Isn't a big deal like everyone Is trying to make It out to be. He was being honest. He wasn't wrong. He blamed the OL as well. I'm not sure many people would disagree with him? I don't care about him being the biggest problem. At least he Isn't blowing smoke up everyone's ass either. I'm tired of hearing "well, we are beating ourselves. Only we can beat us." Blah, Blah, Blah.. That shit Is non-sense. Anyway. To each their own. I don't see anything wrong with what he said.
when your QB is getting pressured in less then 2 seconds and you are the main reason why you don't get to tell him to get it out faster. the fastest releasing QB in the NFL right now is ben at 2.35 seconds (and he threw 19 of his 60 passes yesterday to his RB harris) and zach is getting pressured in 1.7 seconds on more then half of his drop backs, what can you expect from him? it's a no win situation. and everytime he does make a play his WR drops it and kills the drive. ZW isn't playing great by any means, but he hasn't been awful either. GVR should have called out the o-line if he wanted to call anyone out. not the rookie QB dealing with the most pressure, the most sacks, and the most drops.
How Is he averaging over 3 seconds then? Math doesn't make sense to me. He HAS been awful. The whole offense HAS been awful. Pretend If you want but there Is a reason that we are at historic low's on offense, ALL-TIME, after 3 weeks. GVR did call out the OL. Did anyone even bother to listen or read what he said? Christ...
The 1.7 seconds is how long it usually takes before the pocket collapses. The 3 second time to throw metric you're referring to includes time spent evading the rush before an eventual throw.
What @REVISion said. Just rubbed me the wrong way. Then mid-way through he realized he sounded like an ass and said the OL needs to protect better.
For the record Zach Wilson has a completion percentage of 55.2% right now. Adjusted for drops, he currently sits at 70.4% 70.4%!!!! That's up near Kyler Murray, Russell Wilson, Dak Prescott, etc. I hate this fuckin team
Wow now there's a side bet: how often will pocket collapse around Wilson on Sunday?? ahah. I guess that depends on how often we get possession of the ball ..if its at least 3x per quarter I say 12 and over
If I could find a way to fine him, I would. I'd collect the fine, humiliate him in front of the whole team and ownership, and then cut his ass. I'd trash him for having the balls to criticize a teammate when he is the primary reason his teammate (Zach) is taking a pounding and not playing as well as he could, and for hindering the whole offense with his sorry play. I'd tell him that he's the worst OL in the league, an embarrassment, a sorry ass excuse for a professional and teammate, and tell him that his ass has been cut. I wouldn't even let him clean out his locker. I'd tell him to get dressed and leave the building, and that security would bring his belongings to him in the parking lot.
