It would have been OK if he protected him with good OL and added competent WRs. Without that, yes, it is looking like a mistake of enormous proportions.
Seats are definitely getting warm. I think just by virtue of the six year deal, JD is safe this year. I suppose if they win one or two games this year that can change. Him and Saleh go into next season on the hot seat.
So far Douglas looks as bad as Idzik and Maccagnan. 100% utter dogshit. If this team really is as bad as last year's, fire him and Saleh at the end of the year and find the next Parcells, or I'm done as a Jets fan.
Yes let's find the next Parcells ..one is retired Who do we get ???? Ditto on being practically done with carousel of manure
Anyone looked at the Eagles roster recently? The one JD had a big hand in helping build? Ain’t a lot of hand high-end guys there. I think he’s got the right idea as far as the positions he values, just isn’t hitting with them. The coupe de grace is that he came “highly recommended” by gase. The kiss of death. The Jets should avoid taking recommendations going forward… Casserly recommended Bowles and Mac, and Peyton Manning recommended Gase, and Gase recommended JD
My guess is Douglas was as responsible for the Eagles' success as Idzik was for the Seahawks, and the media crafted a bullshit narrative around him for clicks.
The only ones out there that are even close to fitting that mold are Bill Cowher, Brian Billick, Tony Dungy, Gary Kubiak, Rex Ryan, Jeff Fisher, Marvin Lewis. Eric Mangini just turned 50; he can't be worse than this.
The definition of chutzpah is the man who kills both his parents and then pleads for mercy because he is an orphan.
Let's put it this way. With his releases, trades & signings So far every move that JD has made has made OTHER teams better. The draft is 1 part of the equation but in the other regards we have let go of more talent than acquired, this isn't suppose to happen.
1. Robby gone 2. OL patchwork of McGovern, Fant, GVR and Moses who have all been pretty bad. No true upgrades to OL FA. All journeymen. 3. Traded Sam and looks like Sam was good after all. If it was to reset the QB clock, what FS did he sign to help the next guy? This is what it will all come down to. 4. Oh wait, Corey Davis. Awful. Drops everything. 5. 2020 class is putrid. Ashtyn Davis, Zuniga, Perine ahaha wtf? 6. Management of Denzel Mims. That was you guy and now he can’t play? 7. Becton over Wirfs. 8. drafting AVT and Moore who really don’t look great. Still young and need more talent but idk. Can’t really speak about them. everything he’s touched has been awful. Awful. If it’s a year of 0-16 and all, he has to go.
JD was brought in to make a 7-9 team better he failed at that ,got lucky that the fans thought he had this great vision on a total rebuild and the fact that Adam Gase was such a easy guy to blame for the state of the team. JD is a failure, we are a worst team now then when he took over . When he is fired JD will probably have the worst record of any GM in Jets history
How can you as a GM hired a coach that does not believe in the players you drafted 1 yr ago? It feels like JD and Saleh are on different pages.
L Williams, Q Williams, Mosely ,Adams ,Maye. They were all here when JD took the job. 5 very good to great players. On offense Sam, Robby, Herndon ,Bell. Guys from the o-line starting throughout the NFL. 3 yrs into his rebuild what are we building on ? What is better ? Was it really Gase or JDs lack of talent ?
