my point is dont point to success of smaller players far in the past. use some more recent ones, the game was completely different back then. and i understand his point, but I'm just saying theres alot more failures to point to than exceptional cases.
While that is basically true, Herron, Young, and James were still very small compared to the other players. Also take note all- by listing those three players I was in no way trying to prove ANY point. I was simply listing three small backs. Also, Dunn did not come into the league as a wide receiver.
He may have been exposed tonight. 20 carries, 28 yards, 0 TDs It's weird though because he had a pretty good game against Ohio State.
It was not the first time that he has been "exposed" this season. I.E. 18 for 25 yards against W. Michigan 17 for 45 against fricking Temple! 22 for 66 against Iowa 16 for 54 against Toledo. Other than the fluke against Ohio State, the rest of his yards came against the sisters of the blind and deaf and maybe even the poor!
Wolfe's offensive line gave him no help Tues. He's as good as it gets though. TCU d-line just too damn good. He ran all over OSU, C. Mich, Miami, Ball State and Mich, NU in 2005. He'll be a 6th or 7th rounder and play some special teams.
What about the other games that I stated? It surely was not limited to just last Tuesday! He has Doug Free as one of his linemen; Free will be a 2nd or 3rd rounder which is very good for a MAC O-lineman.
Free was exposed by the TCU line. I'd be surprised if he is taken on Day 1. WOlfe was at a lot of disadvantages. He was playing the nations 4th ranked D and without his starting QB (Phil Horvath) and starting TE (Jake Nordin).
I remember Michael Turner smoking Maryland and Alabama, and there was an obvious disadvantage; a lot more so than what a TCU team could provide!
Turner never smoked Maryland (90 yards) he did have a great clock eating drive in the 4th Quarter though. He smoked Bama but it wasn't the numbers that Wolfe put up against OSU or NU. Very equal to what Wolfe did against Michigan in 05.
Wolfe has now signed with the Bewares. Good pick up for them , I'm sure as he gets a bit older and wiser he will put on a bit more weight. Still wouldn't want to see him in the backfield if I were LB.
Yeah its a pretty old thread, but anyone who writes someone off for their size is not only ignorant, but retarded.
