IMO,it's pretty simple. Stop the run. If we let Maroney and Dillon do what Fargas did yesterday,it's gonna be a long day. Even though he only got 79 yards,if that was a better back...............We also need to pressure the hell out of Brady like we did last time. That was they key last time.

Its simple, as Chad goes, so do the Jets. He needs to have an efficient, not great (although that would be nice), but efficient day, meaning NO TURNOVERS. If he does that, we have an excellent chance to win.

Hopefully, Wilfork is out again and so is Harrison... that would definitely help our running game.

This game will depend on the defenses... we need to keep Brady under pressue, when the Pats lose it's usually when Brady has defenders in his face... stopping the run will be huge as well and I really feel good about our ability to do that lately, the defense has been on a mission...

On O it all hinges on Chad... he doesn't need a huge game, just an effective one with no more than 1 turnover... we're also gonna have to get something from the running game... after two good games against them Belli will have something to deal with Coles and Cotch...

I think our D is the most important. As long as Chad and co. don't turn the ball over,we don't need them to go nuts.

The key to this game is moving the ball with the short game against the Pats with 7 in the box. We have been able to exploit teams when they leave the saftey up all game with 1 or 2 deep passes over the middle. I don't see the Pats being fooled by this at all. If Wolfork is healthy and the Pats can bottle us up like they did in the first game we are going to have a tough time putting any offensive points on the board. We must break a few plays early when the Pats are in their base D or they will simply win a game of attrition against us.

Hey all! I'm a Pats fan from Mass! I use the same screen name on the official Pats board so you can find me there if you want!

First: Grats on the playoffs! That was one hell of an accomplishment considering no one gave you a chance early in the season!

Beating the Pats. Hmmm. Get pressure on Brady number 1. Second get the lead and make Josh panic in his play calling. If you can do those things you have a decent shot.

Wilfork will most likely play. He was practicing last week. Harrison - who knows? BB is being typically quiet on the matter, but Harrison says he is ok. It will be key for us to have him out there.

I think that the key is going to be the Wide Receivers. Watching the last few games, I feel like the play of Coles has slipped a little bit. And J-Mac has been struggling all season. Not that any of the WRs have been playing badly - Coles and Cotchery have been fantastic this season. But they need to make some magic happen if the Jets are going to win like the Cotchery corner of the endzone catch in the last game against the Pats, the Coles tackle-breaking TD run in the first game against the Pats, or the Cotchery falling on the defender, getting back up, and running in for a TD.

Going along with that, I think Leon Washington and Justin Miller are also going to have to step it up and do some similar magic on special teams.

Obviously, defense is important. But the key is not preventing a 100-yard rusher or getting in Brady's head. That's too simplistic. The real key is just not to give up the big play. Giving up a TD is not the end of the world. But when the other team breaks a big play, that's when the Jets unravel.

And, yes, Chad has to show up and be "good Chad." But even that doesn't guarentee victory. Chad is what he is - a great leader who picks his spots well. But his role is to get the ball in the hands of guys who can do something special - not to really do anything special himself.

So, in conclusion, as I said before, the key is going to be the WRs.

Coles is really banged up with ribs and the concussion.

He's a really tough cookie and may be able to give us an A game next week even with all the pain.

I agree that Coles's injury is the main reason he hasn't been playing as well. He's gotten beaten up badly the last few games. But the Jets desperately need him to be the Coles we all know and love to beat the Pats.

The number one key will be turnovers. Both teams have won on each others turf. Mistake free football will be the key to victory!

Agree. Chad will have to play well and put us in position to score points, but the D is gonna have to step it up. I just can't see us scoring more then 20 points in New England.

Stop the run on D and let Chad throw early would be my two keys of victory.

Crush the Patriots running game and tight ends with linebacker and safety place. Force Brady to throw to his shit wideouts.

And indeed, ball control offense. Long drives ending in scores, maximizing time of possession.

When Chad throws 1 or no INT's, the Jets are 9-1. When he throws 2 or more, 1-5. However, that one loss did come against the Pats at home. He has to avoid ANY turnovers.... fumbles and INT's. He does that, we have an excellent chance.

Having said that, I'm sure this fact doesn't escape Belichick. I think he'll gamble some, and have his DB's and LB's gamble a bit, and try to jump these short outside routes looking for those game changing turnovers.

With Dyson out, I expect Mangini to show a defensive front that begs to be run on.... similar to the game plan that was used agaisnt Indy. He will try to dictate to the Pats what the play calls should be. Then, he'll bring the safeties up in run support after the snap. That's my purely subjective guesswork.

Could be a mistake. That's the kind of thing that Chad could brutalize them on, with hitches, play actions, and pump fakes.

Every defender should ask this question on every offensive down: where is Richard Seymour?

I think the key is scoring more points then the Pats. If we do that, we have a good shot at victory.

It seems you have a negative opinion of me and perhaps I've given you a reason to have that opinion.

However, by singling out my post and making the type of comment you did, do you think you're any better?
