They had the 2nd worst record in the league last year, a prime waiver spot to poach players and they couldn't find 8-10 players from other rosters that are better then their own? I trust JD but I am very underwhelmed by his effort today.

Agreed. This seems like a way way way too confident approach to building a team. "We are fine with our guys because they are our guys and we will make them into NFL players".

You just can't tell me that there weren't AT LEAST two other tight ends available that could be better now and in the future. Brown is good at literally nothing and Griffin has looked flat out bad since his surgery and he's 31 years old.

Mosley was the one who needed to be traded this offseason. Keeping him means we are committed to paying him 18 million next year, and 20 million if we cut him. Maybe we trade him early in the season though.

Totally agree--what is this team's fascination with Daniel Brown? On the opening play of the opening game last year, he was flagged for holding on the kickoff which moved the ball from the jets 37 back to the 9. Good forecast for the whole season. But he is s special teams stud, right? Not a lot to ask to NOT commit a major penalty on the opening play of the season. As a TE, he is even worse.

he's cheap this year and with a young defense we need a veteran leader and QB of the defense out there. Mosley fits the bill. he was a top Lber in the NFL when we signed him, the coaching staff loves him, and he's dropped about 15lbs to fit our scheme better.

I would not trade him this year. Losing Lawson hurt like hell and we are heavily relying on a guy like Mosley now

You listed him as expendable for a rebuilding team. I agree. We should have expended him this offseason. If he doesn't play like an all pro than we are stuck with another very expensive contract next year.

So why do you think any team would give up something of value for that ?

Because thanks to COVID he is cheap this season at 7 million. Many teams looking to compete could afford that and would've traded for it. Next year his contract makes him untradable unless he is an all pro.

Is Ashtyn Davis ever gonna be a player or just sit on IR forever. He was a player that we definitely needed in a big way and once again he is out

8 Rookie Starters or rookies playing a prominent role along with 4 2nd year starters. Pretty amazing. I cannot recall any team this young. Be prepared for a lot of growing pains.

    Rookies:
Zach, AVT, Moore, Carter, Sherwood, Nasrildeen, CB2 presumably Echols, and Ammendola.
    2nd Year:
    Becton, Guidry, Hall and Mann.

He looks way too small to be an NFL safety in my opinion

Ive already mentally moved on from him. He’s forever injured and wasn’t good when he was healthy.

I listed him as expendable after this season. They've committed to him already and after the Lawson injury, he is more critical to have on the field then ever before.

I do think he is entirely expendable, just not right now

The crazy thing is our cbs , as a unit they have started a grand total of 10 games between them and have given up over a 70 % completion rate. I understand wanting to play youngsters but these are not top notch talents to begin with. I see teams going 4 wide and eating us up

I can't imagine that ever being the plan, because as you say, they are the worst TE group in the NFL. I am truly perplexed as to why JD didn't at least sign Hollister. I can understand not signing the young TE the Bucs cut because he supposedly regressed as a blocker, and that is very important in our offense. LaFleur and Saleh may learn that they have to compromise. In order to get a better receiving TE they may have to sacrifice some blocking.

All it takes is one starting LB injury to a pretender team with a dim GM. Say, week 5 or so.
