if we were gonna cut him, makes sense. get a 6th rounder maybe (to compensate for lawson trade) and the vikings don't have to worry about losing him from a team with a better waiver. if it's at least a 6th i'd consider it trading him for lawson
Ertz is second on the eagles depth chart, he is a good recieving TE no doubt about that, but our TEs will need to block strong like Kittle. This is a run first offense and one reason we went big for Corey davis. If we acquire a TE I expect them to be a stronger blocker than receiver. Sent from my M2007J20CG using Tapatalk
A 2nd for Ertz would be a really Jetsy move - massively overpay for a washed up name. That 2nd rounder could be a really good player for 5-7 years.
I said AS HIGH AS a 2nd. I wouldn't call and offer it. And also that's assuming you'd get a late round pick back with him.
If we offer anything more than a fifth for Ertz then we're getting hosed. A second?! Up to a second?! Dude. You're smarter than that. He might be out of the league in two years. He definitely wouldn't be on the Jets next year unless he and Wilson bond so much about Jesus that he wants to stay.
Im aware it's more than he's worth. Like I said when you have 2 firsts and 2 seconds you can spend one of those seconds on a sure thing which to me is worth it. I even said in my original post Douglas would never do it.
Teams do dumb things all the time. By your logic no player on any roster sucks because their current team is giving them a chance. Herndon has not only been unspectacular during his career but he's been clearly trending downward in his production. It would be remarkable if he becomes a good player.
No. You don't piss away assets just because you have them. Unless we're gearing up for a SB run, Ertz does nothing for this team of significance and his future playing capabilities are a bit up in the air since he's slowed and was already a slug before he got hurt and seemingly aged five years in a blink.
Chris Herndon was really similar to Dustin Keller. I thought he had a chance to be a star, he showed some sparks, but then just fizzled out. It's too bad.
That's exactly what I'm expecting. There was a hot minute last week where I thought this would be an option but you're right, the ground game is the priority early while Zach learns his job.
