The money is irrelevant because it's rather miniscule in the grand scheme of things. The more important question is, what did he see in him to think he was a good option to be a starting guard as opposed to all of the other potential options out there? The Chargers line has been trash for years and they spent two consecutive picks on him and Forrest Lamp to fix it.
Smith has been mostly terrible. Bad routes, drops leading to INTs, fumbles, you name it. He’s a speedster that has value in a limited role but not in this WR room.

Don't forget he is also great at smashing beer cans on his head at Islander playoff games. That in itself is almost worth a spot. But, I think you hit it with flexibility to be backup center and guard along with lots of starting xp and the potential to do better here because of his mobility.
Doing pretty good so far (11/13) and the only one's I didn't have thus far were Lamar Jackson and Josh Adams (this one stings for some reason) and probably wrong on Mike White too.
I do feel for Adams, he keeps showing that he has something in his locker but he never seems to get a protracted go at staking a claim.
Hope he clears waivers. Would like to have him on the PS. Current cut list: Aaron Adeoye Bennett Jackson Corey Levin David Moore Hamilcar Rashed Jr. Jeremiah Valoaga Jimmy Murray Josh Johnson Josh Adams JT Hassell Kenny Yeboah Lamar Jackson Lawrence Cager Vyncint Smith Down to 66
cue the meltdown. Yeboah didn't have a great spring or summer but had two nice catches in a preseason game so the Internet is absolutely going to lose their minds.
