I wouldn’t. I think the receivers fit better than whoever the 4th tight end would be does. Yeboah (who is now the 2021 David clowney preseason mvp award winner) is an easy pass to the practice squad. I think the 7th receiver gives us more flexibility on offense and special teams.
Of course I reserve the right to be completely wrong in all of this.

The 7th WR we keep probably wouldn’t make 90% of NFL rosters.
Granted the 3rd TE we keep (4th if you count Wesco at FB) probably wouldn’t either.
This is not a deep roster.
A lot will come down to special teams.

Yeboah showed he can make the tough catches. There ought to be a spot somewhere on this team for a guy who can do that. When was the last time we had a receiver go up in a crowd in the EZ and come down with the ball? Some will say he was just lucky, but I think there's a skill to being able to do what he did, and we ought to nurture it.

Agree bro--why go with established under-performers? Taking a chance on Yeboah adds hope and excitement. It's not going to cost us any games.

I hope that you're wrong. I'd rather keep Yeboah than Herndon. I think there's a very good chance that if the Jets try to sneak Yeboah onto the PS, they will lose him. I've given up on Herndon. Yeboah might be limited as a blocker, but he's the only one of the Jets' TEs who is a real threat as a WR, especially deep down the seam. Herndon was at one time, but his hands have proven too unreliable.

There are 31 teams out there looking to loot the practice squad of every other team and Yeboah just had his "look at me" play. Is it worth taking the chance?

This is of course true, but the opposite position (cutting Herndon) leaves the team with Yeboah who is a limited blocker possibly in line to play a major role if there is an injury. Are they going to risk that rather than go with a known commodity like Herndon, who has in the past shown flashes of playmaking ability? If the Jets had a deep TE position I suspect they'd keep the prospect, but the Jets don't so I suspect they'll keep the known commodity and try to sneak Yeboah on the PS.

I agree that is what the Jets will probably do. I was just saying that I hope they will surprise and do the opposite. They still have Kroft and Wesco who are good blockers, and it's not like Yeboah is a horrible blocker or doesn't try. He will get better. They will look foolish if they try to sneak him (Yeboah) onto the PS and he is claimed and goes on to be a star elsewhere, and then Herndon has another awful year. He definitely has the character they want as well. I'm not certain that Herndon has the same great character that Yeboah has.

Yeboah is exactly the type of player who should make the roster this year. Tons of upside but obviously needs refinement.

If I'm JD, I'm keeping KROFT, HERNDON and YEBOAH and cutting GRIFFIN.

    I consider WESCO a FB.

That was my thought. That game was just the type of fuel to make some TE-needy team snatch him from the PS. The Jets had to bid for his services in the first place.

Honestly if it's a choice between keeping an extra TE or an extra WR, I'd wave goodbye to Vyncint Smith.

Joe Douglas gave him $200k (rare) as an undrafted FA.

Kenny Yeboah 4 receptions, 100 receiving yards and 2 TDs...

Just proved JD right for giving him that $200,000.

Each team can protect 4 PS players each week, this was a carryover from the expanded PS rules put into place last season

Thank you. Yeboah might be one, as may be Cager, and a young defensive player on the bubble. Will be interesting to see

I believe that last year, it had to be a different 4 players each week, and that a team could only protect a player twice during the season. Is that still the case?

The one saving grace is that we can now protect 4 players in the practice squad from poaching by other teams. Just in case if the CS wants to bring up someone else up first.

I don't think that was ever a rule since you would need to change players on the practice squad after 4 weeks if you wanted to protect any, that would be completely counter to what the practice squad is all about
