Thanks for posting that. I am unfamiliar with this kind of injury and the impact it has on the edge position. Lawson seems to be a machine In that way too judging by the brief behind the scenes jets drive videos I've seen of him. I think he will be motivated to get back more than most.
It should be 2 or 3 preseason games, 1 preseason game is not enough to show if they deserve to make the team or not
All I can think about this point is just seeing Zach grow. For Christ Sake -lose some weight Becton. Hd him accountable. -Rest AVT until week 1, not like he’s never played football before. Let’s go.
Sorry, chief, but it was a different ACL each time, one was in college 7 years ago, and the other was 3 years ago, and this is the achilles tendon, NOT an ACL.
On the brightside, Becton will only be giving up 3 to 4 sacks during practice next week instead of his 8 to 10 now that Lawson is out
Not to interrupt the venting, but again, how was the practice aside from Lawson's horrible injury? How was Zach, the rest of the team?
Thomas Davis linebacker from the Panthers, he had 3 ACL tears in 3 straight seasons from 2009 to 2011 and came back and played for 10 more years before retiring this year
It doesn't matter if there haven't been any before. Lawson is a different kind of player. He WILL be back. Bet on it!
An injury like that to such a beloved teammate can be a morale buster. Saleh got to rally the troops.
Zach went 10 for 18 with TD and an INT. Sacked 5 times. We also got a pick on Rodgers, I believe Maye tipped it to Nas.
Chad was the king of coming back after season ending injuries (4 times), and has 2 CBPOY's to prove it. Not really the same thing. Seriously though guys. We lost one starter today. If we were one starter away from competing than we were never good to begin with. I think our D-line will still create a lot of havoc. Another edge just has to step up their game. They'll have all the help they need in the middle with Q, FF, and Marshall.
We're all understandably upset, but we knew we weren't contenders this year, anyway. We've got 2 1st's and 2 2nd's coming up in the draft. It's all about 2022 and beyond. As long as ZW plays well and the young guys show promise, 2021 is a success regardless of our record.
Its a terrible tragedy. But in this game your one play away from career threating injury. I hope for his sake he can fully recover, gents keep him in your prays. As for the team, Couple of comments. CC you mentioned that one of the reason Becton is having issues is the new zone scheme. I believe it was yesterday, on this very forum or another maybe, that I read the scheme is similar to what he learn in college so maybe it isn't the scheme as much as he isn't in shape - which I do not know know or care to speculate. I only read what you read and he was getting beat like a drum in TC and now this performance during the scrimmage. The other comment, and this is for all of you, the OL gave up 15 sacks in two days - not to mention all the sacks they have been giving up in TC. That coupled with OC saying PB has not been good speaks volumes at least to me. You can bet that BB and others will be throwing zero blitzes, etc. at at will until we stop it. As another poster put it, time for HC to rally the team, get the next man up and prep to start, If he does that (and I see no reason to doubt that based on what he accomplished with the 49ers after they had major injuries during the JET game) then we - should be ok - but not as good with Mr. L. lets hope I am right.
