https://fanspeak.com/ontheclock-nfl-mock-draft-simulator/ @K'OB I figured you'd enjoy this one. It doesn't grade your draft like last year's draft game but it seems really accurate in regards to player prospects and we're they'll rank @
Hopefully the Jets are picking this high because Seattle blows up. I really cant watch another season of terrible football. Only did four rounds, and even that was pushing the limits on how many players I know. 3: R1 P3 EDGE Kayvon Thibodeaux - Oregon 29: R1 P29 C Tyler Linderbaum - Iowa 35: R2 P3 WR Chris Olave - Ohio State 45: R2 P13 TE Jalen Wydermyer - Texas A&M 67: R3 P3 CB Josh Jobe - Alabama 115: R4 P13 LB Edefuan Ulofoshio - Washington
Those first 4 picks would be amazing, but I'd be stunned speechless if it happened. For one thing, I don't see either Seattle or the Jets being the 3rd worst team in the NFL or the 3rd best. Unless one or more of Mims, Davis, and Cole have an awful season, I can't see JD taking Olave. Even though Linderbaum may be a great prospect, I'd be surprised if JD took him unless McGovern had an awful season. I also think it more likely that JD takes a CB with our second 1st round pick or first pick in the 2nd round. I don't think he waits until the 3rd round to take a CB. He may even take a LB in the 2nd round if Davis or neither Nasirildeen or Sherwood play well.
McGovern’s salary isn’t guaranteed in 2022 and is a FA in 2023. I wouldn’t be surprised if JD uses a 2nd or 3rd day pick on OL every year moving forward. The Cowboys did that for a few years and became dominate but they stopped and now they’re in trouble.
3: R1 P3 CB Derek Stingley - LSU. 29: R1 P29 C Tyler Linderbaum - Iowa. 35: R2 P3 TE Jalen Wydermyer - Texas A&M. 45: R2 P13 EDGE Nik Bonitto - Oklahoma 67: R3 P3 RB Breece Hall - Iowa State. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 115: R4 P13 LB David Ugwoegbu - Oklahoma. 145: R5 P3 WR Jahan Dotson - Penn State 164: R5 P22 LB Amari Gainer - Florida State. Round 2B:) A four-star recruit out of Florida, Bonitto signed on with the Oklahoma Sooners out of high school. Bonitto is 6-foot-3 and 238 pounds and what he brings to the table is a quick first step, athleticism and a wicked spin move that can put offensive linemen on skates. He redshirted in his first year on campus (2018), but did play in three games. In 2019, Bonitto had 43 total tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks as he took over a starting spot midway through the season. He improved his play during the 2020 season and finished with 11.5 tackles for loss and 9.0 sacks. Lines up as a DE but drops into pass coverage bang wins the game with an INT. (I pretty much lose all familiarity (outside of FSU) during the 4th round (took swings and guesses rounds 4&5).
No trades makes things less interesting but I got a nice haul for the J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets: TEAM PICKS 3: R1 P3 EDGE Kayvon Thibodeaux - Oregon 29: R1 P29 EDGE Xavier Thomas - Clemson 35: R2 P3 C Tyler Linderbaum - Iowa 45: R2 P13 TE Jalen Wydermyer - Texas A&M 67: R3 P3 LB Nik Bonitto - Oklahoma 115: R4 P13 RB CJ Verdell - Oregon 145: R5 P3 CB Josh Thompson - Texas 164: R5 P22 FB Jeremiah Hall - Oklahoma 182: R6 P3 S Josh Proctor - Ohio State 194: R6 P15 RB Keaontay Ingram - USC 210: R6 P31 WR Reggie Roberson Jr. - SMU
Were you feeling alright when doing this? You usually make at least 5 trades in these simulations. But seriously, I wouldn't go with 2 Edges in round 1. Love the round 2 picks. I know very little about the day 3 guys you took.
Going through this season without Carl Lawson will make two pass rushers seem like a great idea unless we fix that hole in free agency pronto.
