Neatly-done win, and the Mets win two in a row for the first time in three weeks.

Everytime I give up on the Mets they seem to fight back. The Mets look like they will rise from the dead and will sweep the Nationals to move to within a half a game.

The problem is their next 13 games are against the Giants and Dodgers. Will they still be in the race after those 13 games?

That was almost a really awful 2nd game.

It's definitely nice to sweep the Nats, but, let's see how the team responds against the Dodgers.

Stop pulling the Band-Aid off slowly…just rip it off and tell us he’s done for the season or maybe if we get into the playoffs.

I guess, but anyone who hasn't already come to terms with that just isn't paying attention. At this point, it's more interesting to me what he does next season - it seems clear that he shouldn't come out again trying to be the best pitcher in history, since he's just not physically capable of sustaining it for more than a few months.

Diaz comes in in the top of the 9th in a tie game. I understand that at this point it's all hands on deck, but is there any reason to feel confident here?

You always bring the closer in for the top of 9th tied at home

You don't "always" do anything that is totally arbitrary. You do what gives you the best chance to win. Diaz has failed so many times in that situation that not bringing him in would have been perfectly reasonable. Bringing him in was also reasonable, given how suspect other possibilities also were, as I clearly said, so I don't even see what your point was anyway.

He ended up barely getting through, which doesn't change my point in the slightest. As it turns out, it was another bad reliever (Familia) who messed up instead.

My point is you don’t seem to know baseball basics….

I really don't understand the reasoning behind bringing Familia in to pitch the top of the 10th. He was abysmal on Thursday afternoon against the Nationals and was going on his 3rd day of work in a row.

4 for 48 with runners on base in the series, 0 for 11 with runners in scoring position in the game.

Down 6-0 bottom 2 and Carrasco stays in to bunt and then they take him LOL

Did any of you hear Carrasco after the game when asked about it? "I just don't know" was basically his response.

They fall to .500 and are 3 1/2 games behind Atlanta

What's the over/under on Rojas keeping his job in '22?

I expect that he'll make it to the end of this season, but I think he's toast at that point.
