Yeah, with the Sack Exchange and Taylor, opposing QBs would be pretty beat up and jittery. We had an offense that could put up a lot of points. I definitely think we would have won a SB or two.
walt michaels would have been good with LT......Walton not so much. by the time bud carson got there, LT would likely have been gone.
Teammates. From my viewpoint I can’t wait for this training camp to start and to read the many insightful inputs from TGG. There is a lot to like and look forward to it, beginning with the jelling of our new coaching staff and many new players. I look at it as the most important rookie class EVER as it relates to the FUTURE of the NY Jets. Everything else is in the past and history. This rookie class needs to rewrite history by establishing the foundational blocks that started the most successful winning run in the annals of our beloved NYJ.
I couldn't possibly agree more, especially with the bold!!! Excellent post! Sadly, I don't think some of our posters love the Jets any more, they just can't quit rooting for them. It's like people who gawk at wrecks or have addictions they can't kick. They want to, but just can't do it. I was almost to that point myself a couple of years ago. I feel badly for those posters. If I'm correct about that, hopefully, JD, this CS and this group of players this season will begin warming those posters' hearts, restoring the love they once had for the Jets, and give them hope.
Yes. The Jets traded picks #13 and #20 to SF for the #2 pick and took Lam Jones. I believe they got the #20 pick from Denver for Matt Robinson. Shame really because the trade with Denver was a good one - Robinson not only wore out his welcome in NY but he had hit his ceiling - getting a first round pick for him was outstanding.
Same. As skeptical as I am about some of it, the overall movements made this offseason seem leagues ahead of the doddering bumfuckery of previous years. Actually bought Madden (pre sale) for the first time in 12 years.
