We wait all season for this moment and people leave early? Come on guys. In places like Green Bay nobody leaves ANY game...playoffs or not...until it is over. This is a moment to celebrate and people are trying to beat the traffic?

    In any case...GREAT SEASON JETS!

In most places people do leave, not just us.

it's new years (though not late yet) people have places to go, they have to prepare. And Giant Stadium is hell to get out of. People stayed until the game was 110% decided.

You're gonna sit in traffic tonight regardless of whether you leave 10 mins early or not. People should have stayed to the end.

Agreed. I noticed that and mentioned it in the game thread. They would have to drag me out of the stadium...I'd be marching around singing and shit!

That is an enjoyable 4 hours to bask in the glow of the win. The fans owe it to the team to support them to the end and owe it to themselves to celebrate a well earned playoff berth.

Thats why you take the Port Authority bus, you're back in Manhattan in ten minutes and jump on the subway five minutes later.

Yea, I was gonna say. I've done it a million times. Doesn't help much if you live in NJ, though, or the hinterlands of the tri-state area. But that said, how often does a team clinch a playoff win at home.

not for nothing, but give ppl a break. its new years eve. a lot of ppl have reservations for dinner, and places to go. it isnt like it is just any other sunday.

what should they do? stay in the stadium until 6 pm? im a die hard like everyone else here, but theres only so much you can expect from ppl. its not like the team was staying out on the field for any legnth of time after the game. they went in and showered....now theyre on their way to their own NYE bashes.

I was at the game and left early. I left right after the Raiders couldn't convert on 4th down in the 4th quarter.

Don't hate on people who leave early until you've ridden the Port Authority bus yourself. If you wait until the end of the game, you wait an hour to get on the bus and then you sit in traffic for an hour and a half.

I try not to leave games early usually. I never leave unless it's in the bag (which it was today). It's not such a big deal.

a jets game week wouldn't be complete without a thread bashing the fans for something. since the stadium was almost completely full today that couldn't be mentioned and it settles on the fans leaving early.

Great point. Today the stadium was as loud as I've ever heard it. The fans really showed up today.
