https://www.nydailynews.com/sports/...0210718-mkattce4yzev3kro2lqdogls5m-story.html Sadly, the headline says it all. "deGrom goes back in IL for 2nd time with 5th different injury of the season." @NYGalPal @dawinner127 @statjeff22
God, this team is painful to watch. Three runs in the top of the first, and they're immediately giving it all back with bad pitching and bad fielding. The fact that Eickhoff is still on the team tells you all you need to know about this team.
And bad defense costs them again - Diaz with an easy double play opportunity, and he bobbles the ball, allowing the runner to get to second. Then they pitch to the Reds' best hitter who of course makes them pay. Diaz has blown three saves in his last three appearances, so apparently now he can't even pitch in save situations.
Awful decision of Reds to pitch to McNeil with 1st-and-third, one out, the pitcher due up next, and the Mets without any position players left. 11-10, but I wouldn't count on Banda holding the lead anyway.
Pillar with the 6th home run of the night for the Mets makes it 14-10. Banda might be able to hold that lead.
No idea what you're talking about - Banda clearly couldn't hold the 11-10 lead with the man on second, just like I said.
Diaz can not be trusted. Hopefully, Conforto continues his hot hitting, we're going to need it with the pitching being erratic.
Another bullpen game last with 3 guys I barely even heard of. Our starters need to start giving us some length.
Some of these ballparks are such a joke. I personally wouldn’t enjoy watching games played here on a day to day basis.
7 runs from 3 home runs for the Mets, 0 runs on 1 hit for the Reds. The only thing that's strange about that in 2021 is that there has been less of the "0 runs on 1 hit" stuff since they started cracking down on sticky stuff.
