The Jets' kickers have been mediocre at best, and I don't have a lot of confidence in the two currently on the roster. So this seems like a relevant article: 3 NFL Kicker Battles That Are Worth Monitoring for Jets | Heavy.com I'm particularly interested in Eberle (who likely will not beat out Carlson on the Raiders): 2020 NFL Draft Profile: Utah Stake K Dominik Eberle (mwwire.com) Dominik Eberle Draft and Combine Prospect Profile | NFL.com And Borregelas (who likely will not beat out Succop on the Bucs): Jose Borregales Draft and Combine Prospect Profile | NFL.com Jose Borregales, K, Miami (Fl) - NFL Draft Player Profile (profootballnetwork.com)
A lot of us were interested in drafting Borregales with our last pick. Where are you getting the news that both Nagger and Fricken have been average/poor? Seems a long time since somebody brought the kickers up tbh
Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that Naggar and Ficken have definitely looked like crap this spring. I was mostly musing about our recent history of mediocre kickers since we let Jason Myers go. It is true that our current two kickers have not really proven anything. Ficken's career FG % is 72.9 and his EP % is 87.5. Naggar just was a regular one year in college and was not even rated among the top college kickers by most draft analysts (e.g., 2021 NFL Draft Tracker - Prospects | NFL.com). I just think it's prudent to be considering other options if necessary. Also, I think I did read somewhere than neither Naggar nor Ficken have looked outstanding this spring, but I could be wrong.
we sure could use a young Pat Leahy....guy was $$$ in his prime and as clutch as they come. @mrjet80 @matt robinson 17
Yeah i get your point. I like ficken but we can definitely do better. As some other posters mentioned i thought we were going to use a very late round pick on a kicker. Overall though way down the list for this season.
^^^he was MUCH better as a kicker then he is as a message board poster though, you gotta admit that much @mrjet80 !!! @K'OB
