Can't split four at home against a team like the Pirates if you want to win your division. By the way, big loss for Atlanta in Acuna tearing his ACL.
Wait how the fuck did he fall to 10? How did we get him? Wow this is great! Could he have fallen because of the Jeff Passan tweet and other teams may not have wanted to pay him?
If he now goes into a slump again I will be pissed (in 2019 he had a .280/.372/.634 split before the All-Star Game, and a .151/.315/.342 split in the 21 games after it, before finally righting himself and finishing with a .266/.351/.588 split the last 51 games of the season). I am for sure happy about him getting the $1 million prize, 50% more than his annual salary.
Some good news out of Colorado - Rob Manfred announced that the 7-inning double header and runner on 2nd in extra innings rules will likely be gone after this season. Thank God.
I thought it was a good idea for the shortened season to add some whacky intrigue and try some things but it's pretty dumb in action. Baseball needs to try to fix the strikeout and swing and miss problem and they can increase the pace of play.
They need to teach these guys in the minors to make contact and hit opposite field.... the Dave Kingman "all or nothing" shit is killing baseball..... I'm sure I'm a minority, but solo homeruns are boring (outside of being a game clinching hit)
And now Stroman gets into a ridiculous shouting and shoving match after getting a batter out. I thought four days off was supposed to help get their heads' straight - they seem to be tighter than ever.
What the hell is the matter with Stroman? He's still yelling at the Pirate from the dugout 10 minutes later.
Well I think this is an idiotic take. First and foremost I get bummed when anybody gets hurt. Even players that aren’t on my team. Plus you’re allow to criticize the performance of your biggest free agent signing that hasn’t performed and still understand his importance to the team.
I put the over/under until they get the benefit of Lindor's .228 batting average again at three weeks. Does anyone know why deGrom isn't scheduled to pitch in this series? It is now 9 days and counting since he last pitched. 4-1 Pirates now. So pathetic.
That was a funny exchange. Nogowski is 6'0" and 245lbs and Stro is like 5'7" standing on a 1970's phone book, I think he may want to have Alonzo close by if shit goes down.
Diaz blows it big time. Have now lost 4 out of 6 to one of the worst teams in baseball. deGrom “day to day” with forearm tightness. This season is spinning out of control.
