    New Video!

In this video, I discuss why the Jets NEED the young secondary to step up in 2021. The New York Jets currently have 14 players on the roster that are 25 years of age or younger. They have numerous rookies and 2nd year players. To say the secondary is young and inexperienced is a massive understatement.

The good news is that I believe the New York Jets have a talented enough pass rush to help this young group of players succeed. They potentially have some great teachers/coaches on the staff who will be critically important in not only teaching these players the scheme, but also proper technique and fundamentals.

Will the pass rush be strong enough to compensate for the inexperience in our secondary? Which secondary player do you believe in the most? Who will be the starters in the secondary? Should the Jets sign a veteran CB?

I have Hall, Austin and MCII starting week 1, but could definitely see pinnock overtaking Austin early.

    Thanks for responding!

Yes, as is Echols. I think that Carter and Echols can play outside, however, but I could be mistaken.

They’re both smaller faster corners but I believe they have the Football IQ and closing speed needed in a zone D.

Ronde Barber was a midget and wasn't beating any receiver at the LOS. Today most people would have him pigeon-holed as a slot cover guy, but in Tampa he went to the Pro Bowl 5 times when they weren't just handing it out and he did it covering some pretty physically imposing receivers.

The corner situation needs some work but it's not as critical as it was in the 3-4. Throw in a bunch of average-sized guys with good short area speed and quick hands and see which ones stick.
