As I noted months ago, it was always apparent that Bauer was a douche, but this is of course far worse than that if true. Syndergaard is an idiot. It's remarkable seeing the difference in career path of deGrom and him. I try very hard not to get any sort of personal stake in players, but I really hope that deGrom really is as high quality in every way as he seems to be.

Betances’ Mets career is over, as he is gone for shoulder surgery. Peterson immediately sent for an MRI after the game because of “sharp pain.” Gsellman has a torn right lat. And, of course, they routinely score two or fewer runs in games. I hope everyone has enjoyed the Mets’ time in first place, because it will be over soon.
