you said we need 3 more great ones.....Becton we all assume is gonna be a stud and teh same for ACT.....we need 3 more GREAT ones? no we do not
Nah, we have moved on to drink and drugs, not that you could tell the difference, some posts were like a bad acid trip already.
Come on man NYJ had Elijah Moore as their #16th rated player in the Country and after the trade up for Vera-Tucker they just knew 100%, that they had just lost out him but once Elijah had slipped into the 2nd round the entire franchise top to bottom from JD, Saleh, both Johnson's and all the scouts they were all hoping that Jacksonville would pass up on Elijah Moore with their 1st overall pick of the 2nd round. Flight 21 they mentioned his ability @ X, Y & Z and that because of his 4.3 speed he's going to have no problem lining up on the outside and a weapon all over the offense.
I hope Eljiah competes for OROY. I like the word coming out of camp that he is working hard and making plays. We got him at 34, the 6th WR taken. If we would have drafted him at 16 or 23 that would have been a reach. I've seen all your stats and understand that to you think Moore was the best WR in the draft. But according to the rest of the NFL he was the 5th best going in, and the 6th best by draft order. I had him ranked 5th going in, in a tie with Bateman. The reason for his lower rank is he was perceived as a slot guy. Its not like others felt he was an X,Y,Z guy. If he does have success lining up all over then that's a steal for us, and JD. TBH I think maybe the biggest WR steal was Rondale Moore at 49, or Marshall Jr. at 59. At the minimum I'll be happy if Elijiah turns out better then they do. If he turns into an all pro then score one for our FO. But lets see it happen before we anoint him.
awww come on @ouchy....you always have to piss in everyone's cheerios, lol.... your posts crack me up dude, you are the message board personification of the phrase "curb your enthusiasm" lol. Everyone is on board the hype train and you are the guy telling everyone to cool their jets and calm down bc everything is far worse than they think, lol....
Its just separating reality from hype. DWC could be right and things go great for us. I wouldn't say things are worse then we imagine, but we cant start making up accomplishments based on the roster. I'll get hyped when the time comes and preseason kicks in. As BP used to say, "Great potential means you haven't done anything yet." I'm a Parcells type fan.
lol yeah I hear you @ouchy , you raise valid points man. Great Parcells quote by the way. I didn't remember he said that.
This concept seems to be unattainable for some fans. That saying applies to the 2021 Jets until they actually prove they're better than 2-14 and that comes with winning real football games during the season.
@ouchy I couldn't care less about draft order (have you ever looked at amazing 2nd round NFL WRs before) because if you believe that the likes of Toney or Bateman or Rondale Moore or Terrace Marshall Jr are on the same level as Elijah Moore? I've got news for you. (Using their best/career years) Elijah Moore (2020). 8 games. 86 receptions. (10.7 receptions per game). 1,193 receiving yards (149.1 receiving yards per game) 8 TD receptions. (1.0 TDs per game). PFF = 91.2. vs. Kadarius Toney (2020). 11 games. 70 receptions. (6.3 receptions per game). 984 receiving yards. (89.4 receiving yards). 10 TD receptions. (0.90 TDs per game). PFF: 84.0. Rashod Bateman (2019). 13 games. 60 receptions. (4.6 receptions per game). 1,219 receiving yards. (93.7 receiving yards per game). 11 TD receptions. (0.8 TDs per game). PFF: 81.1. Rondale Moore (2018). 13 games. 114 receptions. (8.7 receptions per game). 1,258 receiving yards. (96.7 receiving yards per game). 12 TD receptions. (0.92 TDs per game). PFF: 80.9. (PS: Rondale Moore has only played a combined 7 games over the past two years of 2019/2020 combined). Terrace Marshall Jr. 7 games. 48 receptions. (6.8 receptions per game). 731 receiving yards (104 receiving yards per game) 10 TD receptions. (1.4 TDs per game). PFF = 78.9 ~~~~~~~~ Just look at Elijah's 8 games vs. Marshall Jr's 7 games (within the same exact SEC Conference). It's an eye opening difference. A Staggering difference. Elijah Moore (2020). 8 games. 86 receptions. 1,193 receiving yards PFF = 91.2. vs. Terrace Marshall Jr. 7 games. 48 receptions. 731 receiving yards PFF: 78.9. And within the same SEC Conference too, how can you even attempt to compare the two?
Great chance 1 of our 3 wins it. Because just look around the league. All other 31 teams. None of them had an offensive draft quite like our Jets with QB: Zach Wilson WR: Elijah Moore. RB: Michael Carter (and Alijah Vera-Tucker too). I can't name 1 other team who just did that, on offense. I just can't.
@ouchy heck I'm not even scared to put Elijah Moore's 2020 up against Ja'Marr Chase's 2019 season! because Elijah was truly that awesome in 2020. Chase (2029). 14 games. 84 receptions. (6.0 receptions per game). 1,780 receiving yards (127.1 receiving yards per game) 20 TD receptions. (1.4 TDs per game). vs. Elijah Moore (2020). 8 games. 86 receptions. (10.7 receptions per game). 1,193 receiving yards (149.1 receiving yards per game) 8 TD receptions. (1.0 TDs per game). Elijah had 2 more catches despite 6 fewer games than Chase? That's nuts and the only true difference is that Elijah Moore (unlike Chase) wasn't surrounded by an NFL offense within the SEC such as... • #1 overall Joe Burrow @ QB. • 1st round Justin Jefferson @ WR. • 1st round Clyde Edwards @ RB. • 2nd round Marshall Jr. @ WR. • 3rd round Damien Lewis @ Guard. • 3rd round Lloyd Cushenberry @ Center. • 4th round Saahdiq Charles @ OT. • 6th round Racey McMath @ WR. • 7th round Stephen Sullivan @ TE. I truly believe that Ja'Marr Chase held out of 2020 in order to protect his "#1 WR" status due to being scared of being exposed without both Joe Burrow/Justin Jefferson (and everyone else).
