No. Because there is absolutely nothingness to disagree on did we not all watch the right side of our O-Line featuring Van Roten, Fant and Edoga all look and play like absolute dog crap last year? Morgan Moses changes everything. He turns a trainwreck right side into one of the NFL's best right sides (over night and immediately too).
Ok. Fine. The Right side of our O-Line with Van Roten and George Fant were A+ awesomeness... (Said no Jets fan, ever).
Ok cool but when someone doesn't understand that George Fant was 50% of our atrocious right side of the O-Line just last year imo their opinion becomes invalid once trying to compare him to the likes of a Moses or using terminology such as All-Pro Potential despite Rating 62nd out of only 62 starting OTs.
That’s just being childish. I want Morgan, but I can accept that others don’t. More to the point, arguing on the internet is just futile.
I'm guessing that was a no then. Beginning to remember why I stopped tuning in to the forum last off season. One particular poster makes it mind numbing...
Correct. There is no debate until you can acknowledge last year was his 1st year at a new position. I’m glad we can finally agree on something.
@KingRoach 1st year rookie OTs were out there as puppies and played better than 5th year Fant last season... Fant: 61.6 (5th NFL season lol). 1.) Andrew Thomas: 62.4. 2.) Mekhi Becton: 74.4. 3.) Jedrick Willis 61.5. 4.) Tristan Wirfs: 81.5. 5.) Ezra Cleveland: 66.2. 6.) Matt Peart: 69.3. 7.) Justin Herron: 63.3. I'm sorry but we're not able to play the experience card now 6 years later @ age 29 years old; not with Zach Wilson on the line we're not. Fant could've re-entered the 2021 NFL draft and he still would've (once again) gone Undrafted...
Are we sure McGovern is up For the challenge at Center? Amazes me that the Center position isn’t considered a “premium” position, with all the checks etc. Also, what’s the hold-up with Moses? He isn’t rumored (to my knowledge) to have any other suitors, how long does it take to sign? Worried this could be a Logan Ryan deal!
Here's what I think--the Jets have a deal on the table for $x guaranteed over y years and have told Moses to let them know if he can get a better deal and maybe they'll sweeten it. Moses is smart to wait it out as key injuries could make him more valuable. And I too am concerned about McGovern but we gotta roll with him this year due to cap considerations.
The last few days on this site have made me pine for your posts. I think I'll come back in September when the alpha-males have disappeared.
I think if you look at McGovern's stats the season before he joined the jets we should have no concerns moving forward. He was hung out to dry between poor guards and Gase last season. It is a big season for him, no doubt about that but I am confident he will return to those dominant figures of his last season in Denver.
I gotta say i like Fant but Moses is an upgrade. I'm allnfornthis signing and for keeping fant as depth.
that just the jets. and because we have sucked. here are some of the top paid lineman in the NFL 1) trent williams 23/year. turns 33 next month and is signed through 38 6) lane johnson 18/year. is 31 but signed through 35 11) nate soldier 16/year is 33 and signed through 34 17) brandon books (number 3 paid guard though) 14/year, is 32 and signed through 35 18) zach martin (number 4 paid guard) 14/year, is 32 and signed through 35 Morgan moses is 30, nothing wring with signing him to a 3 year deal. could always be released year 3 if he declines but plenty of good lineman get signed passed their early 30s
