Lucic is 33 and still productive and tough good for 2 years till Cuylle comes up, take a draft pick from Flames to dump his salary
I'm 36 born in 1985 and just watching the Islanders in the playoffs (with Jets players going crazy over them) really has me missing my childhood days throughout the early to mid 1990's rooting for NYR players like Mark Messier, Brian Leetch, Adam Graves and Mike Richter and I went crazy as a kid when we got WAYNE GRETZKY! I miss those heated rivalries vs. both the NJ Devils and Philadelphia Flyers. Crazy. I still to this day remember being 8-9 years old and my mom got me NHL 93' on Christmas for my Super Nintendo I loved that game couldn't stop playing it (John Madden and NBA live too). Anyone miss those throwback days especially with the Islanders in the playoffs right now?
I've been a fan since '72. The big thing about the '93-94 team is that they ended a 54 year Stanley Cup drought. I remember watching the final game at a friend's place and we were all euphoric when the drought ended. We'd been fans for anywhere from 11 to 40 years at that point and it was almost surreal when the buzzer sounded and Adam Graves threw his stick up in the air.
Yeah man I was 9 years old in 1994 and my imagination was big as ever and although I didn't know what 50+ years meant at the time, I knew something special was happening because my older brother kept telling me bro we're going to win it all NY is going to win it all and I was glued to the TV down in the basement I remember this celebration like yesterday damn where has time gone has it really been 27 years? It's awesome you knew the significance of this celebration because back then as a NY kid? I thought both my KNICKS and the Rangers would be in the Finals every year (boy was I wrong). #MemoriesLast4ever. #NYRangers. #ThnxYou. It's even better watching it now. Now that I can comprehend the significance of MSG absolutely going wild. Chants of DEFENSE MSG brings you chills. NEW YORK FANS ARE THE BEST!!! I didn't remember the stick thrown in the air but I remember them skating around the ring together in cerebration was so cool. @Br4d how good can the Rangers be next season? I don't know anything about the players. Plz tell me we're close to 1990's status again.
Lots of young talent, especially on defense hopefully Gallant can harness it, severely lacking in toughness, great young goaltender in Igor, need Lucic for 2 years till Cuylle is ready
The Rangers have a lot of topline talent right now. I'm really surprised we didn't break through last season and pretty sure we will next.
Tom Wilson is trending on Twitter for "Breaking" the Rangers. Pretty funny. They are definitely making a lot of moves. They want to get tougher. Can't blame them. Free Agency should be exciting this year. The Metro looks really strong from Top to Bottom.
So let's talk, Rangers fans: 1) I've said it before, and I will say it again: With the possible exception of Dave Maloney, Jacob Trouba is the least talented player to wear the Captain's "C" since I have been born. He is getting paid 8M per year to be a cheerleader, and injure opponents. He is doing nothing else on the ice. 2) Sammy Blias' production is identical to his production last season. Unfortunately, he spent the near entirety of last season on the injured reserved list. 3) The Vitali Krastov experiment is proving to be a dismal failure thus far. 4) Is there really no one better in this entire organization than Ryan Carpenter to play center every game?
1) Trouba has been bad, agreed. 2) Blais should be cut for Gauthier when Gauither is healthy. We need to accrue cap and Gauthier makes the most sense. 3) Kravtsov has played like, 5 periods of hockey. He’s not going anywhere. 4) They would’ve had Gustav Rydahl up but he had a two-way contract, where as Carpenter did not, so they kept Carpenter to maintain depth.
For the rest of the season, any time that I see that Jaroslav Halak is in net, I am shutting off my television
They didn’t lose because of Halak. They didn’t put pucks in the net on Saturday night. Can’t win scoring 1 goal.
