You are exactly spot on, those players will all be key in Wilson's growth

no he just sucks and is oft injured. people took a 3 game span out of a 6 year career to try to say he was good, but he isn't

So tru....one helps the other. But before one phase can really help, say the deep passes, they have to connect on a regular basis so the D respects them and plays back with 2 safties.

When Sam was 'airing it out' to Robbie, not too many D's respected our deep game and they continued to stack the box and come after Sam. If Zack starts this season, I think Saleh will call very conservative game plans to keep ZW upright. A lot of screens, flats, play action, and a LOT of the run game. The short game is Crowder's game. Over time Zack and our line will improve and we'll see more and more 20+ yrd passes, but those take an extra second or two to develop, so I don't expect tons of those throws too soon in Zack's development. I hope I'm wrong! I love the deep ball! Zack's first 20+ yard completion will probably come off-script with Z running for his life and launching a 50 yarder across his body to a wide open WR! (I can dream right!!!?)

I did. It was kind of pointless because all it showed me was routes he was asked to run that ended in a catch. Two problems: he wasn’t asked to be a deep threat and when he was, that doesn’t mean the ball was even thrown to him. So like o said all you really did was tell us what we already knew: he was used terribly in the worst offense in the league.

I was a big time Robby Anderson fan and was absolutely disgusted that Joe Douglas replaced one of the greatest undrafted Jets WR gems of All-Time for an absolute BUST WR in Perriman.

However with that said, Joe Douglas has since made up for his Robby Anderson blunder and gets an A++ for the way(s) he's since attacked our WR unit.

    Since Anderson's departure?

    Corey Davis.
    Denzel Mims.
    Elijah Moore.
    Jamison Crowder.
    Keelan Cole.

That's an awesome WR unit with an exciting blend and mixture of big/physical 6'3 outside WR's in Davis/Mims, smaller/quicker receivers in Elijah/Crowder/Cole; with blazing speed in Elijah (4.35) and Denzel (4.38).

And don't sleep on Braxton Berrios. Kid is a gamer.

Joe Douglas has since made me forget all about Robby Anderson (good luck with San Darnold) and I've long moved on from "Robby Anderson"; and you all should do the same.

    Can you read?

What he said about Robby A (he's glad he is gone because of his hair style) plays into your previous thoughts about his statement about Sam/Becton.

I didn't think it was rocket science tbh

No biggie and no insult, so cool your boots

mims was used for his skill set. he'll be used the same this year and the same way as davis. he's not a big separation guy but he's a great CIT guy with a big body who fights for the ball

not sure why you are comparing Mims to Robby aside from them being a Jet in their careers? They are two completely different WR’s.

But you just proved that he WASNT used for his skill set. Look at the difference between the pro film and college film. The college film is his skill set (also every scouting report that lines up with it) and the pro film is how poorly he was used.

that was the point. that robby brought something to our offense we don't currently have while mims and davis are similar WRs
how can you say he was used poorly when he missed a bunch of time with injuries and only played 9 games his rookie year. our offense sucked yes, but even in his college film he isn't getting wide open in straight line, he's winning contested catches

Oh, I can read all right - I can read someone making a reference to Robby Anderson as if I should have something to add even though Anderson's situation is totally different than that of either guy being discussed by me. His hair? Really? I'll leave that debate to you and whoever else thinks it's noteworthy.

You should probably be more concerned about your own comments than attempting to drag me into anything I've shown no interest in.

From Jets practice report: Zach Wilson still impressive as the receivers keep pace

    https://theathletic.com/2639853/202...as-the-receivers-keep-pace/?source=dailyemail

an article by Connor Hughes at The Athletic

"The presumed receiver depth chart might have been a little off. The Jets seem to like ex-Jaguar Keelan Cole as the No. 2 next to (an eventually healthy) Davis. Mims, since returning from injury, is working almost exclusively with the second-team offense, only occasionally rotating in with the starters. He had a rough practice on Tuesday dropping two easy passes.

Mims is in a bit of a unique situation. The Jets want to run a carbon copy of Kyle Shanahan’s offense, which requires route-running specialists at receiver who can create yards after the catch. That’s why they prioritized drafting Moore, and signing Cole and Davis. Mims isn’t really that kind of a player. He might never be a route technician. Scouts always viewed him as more of a vertical, linear player.

That doesn’t mean he can’t develop, but it wasn’t his strength at Baylor. It’s worth monitoring Mims’ usage come camp and the preseason — especially because Cole looks really, really good so far."

Yes. He did miss the first 7 games due to a hamstring injury but once returning he finished the season with 9 consecutive games played.

And yes. He was used poorly. Adam Gase says hello (FIRED).

He also had opposing CBs smoked time and time again all while Sam was running around like a chicken with his head cut off and could never hit wide open Mims in stride. And then there was Frank Gore (instead of unleashing the beast).

And yes. Denzel Mims was awesome at being physical and led the Country in catches in traffic @ Baylor...

but he doesn't have 4.38 speed @ 6'3 for nothing. Kid is an absolute speed burner as well and smoked a lot of NCAA secondaries!

(Watch this video below and you'll immediately realize how poorly Denzel was misused by both Gase and Sam).

It's going to be so fun watching Denzel Mims enter 2021 without a hamstring injury while Zach Wilson utilizes him with a super strong arm.

Nothing in that video shows break away speed. I said it when we first drafted him. doesn't mean he's slow or bad he's just more a big body corey davis/alshon jeffrey type of WR then a robby anderson type. that was my only point

Denzel Mims has a track background but I guess you didn't watch that video, because there were a whole bunch of plays where Denzel Mims turned on the Jets & absolutely smoked his CB and opposing secondaries.

    (@ 1:23).
    (@ 2:24).
    (@ 2:52).
    (@ 3:36).
    (@ 6:13).
    (@ 8:43).

"Nothing in that video shows breakaway speed"...

You obviously don't know how to breakdown plays because Denzel Mims absolutely smoked his CB/Secondary on all 6 of those deep ball plays.

But wait. I've got some more for you (that weren't in the video above).

Make that yet another 3 plays where he gets past his CB and smokes them.

    Etc. Etc.

If you don't consider those plays as breakaway speed I'm not sure what you're watching...

@ the end of the day Denzel Mims and Elijah Moore are our fastest WR duo since dating back to Coles and Moss and both have breakaway speed (Adam Gase doesn't change that).
